When need to use our 5 draft picks makes no since to trade them at all we need to replace brian cardinal jason collins mark madsen sheldon williams bobby brown and replace them with younger and better talent

6. Johnny Flynn/Demar Derozan
18.Earl Clark/James Johnson
28. Damion James/patty mills
45.Rodrigue Beaubois
47.Jon Brockman

We would get clark or johnson one of them have to slip

Not that excited about your choices with the picks, but I don't disagree with your thesis.

there's no guarantee that all 5 picks will result in better talent seeing how this perceived as a weak draft.

First, punctuation and grammar are your friends.

Second, most fans believe that, in regards to players, quality > quantity. I know I'd rather package the lower picks to get something higher in the draft.

could be wrong, but I thought he meant like trading the #28 to the spurs for a future 2nd or something like that, in essence giving picks away to save bankroll

My opinion: :o
The #6 pick will be BPA since we need alot. Think speed...
We'll package #18 + #28 to move to #10-15 for a player of need.
Lastly, we'll work to stash a 2nd rounder over in Europe.

I think it's a decently deep draft for solid talent, it's just not going to produce a whole lot of all-stars.

I'm going to look at it, since I've seen the suggestion a bunch of times lately, but who from 10-15 will want to drop down to 18 for the 28?

I don't think the draft is that deep enough where your lower picks have enough value to trade up.

The quality is lower this year, but that also means a larger quantity of such players, so I don't think quantity is a bad thing THIS year. If people are saying it's a cr@p shoot after the 3rd or 4th pick, then by all means throw the darts a hope that two hit the bullzeye. I think the gm's will be spinning their wheels because they'll have no idea what to make of the draft. I've read where a lot of teams covet Flynn...Derozan is the charismatic pick, but he's kinda dumb.

I wonder if we could use our 2 2nds w/ the 18 to move up a few spots, there's some teams in front of us like the Suns, Cats, and Bucks that are pretty well stocked in their rotation, but still in need of bodies to get to the roster minimum and some 2nd round picks can fill those end of the bench roster spots cheaply.

Milwaukee if we can add some sort of cap space incentive to it.

I'm all for Dewey's plan, btw. Consolidate to two top 10 picks and someone to stash overseas.

The weakness in this draft comes mostly from a lack of decent big men. The guards at the top also probably aren't as good as the Rose/Mayo/Westbrook/Gordon/Augustin crop was last year. Still, this draft is deep at PG and also has pretty good depth at the wing positions as well. Since we desperately need more help on the perimeter, I don't think it's as weak for us as it might be for other teams. I agree that it isn't a guarantee all 5 picks turn out better than what we have, but right now DX has guys like Jerel McNeal and Damion James being available where we pick in the 2nd round, and both of those guys could help us.

Once again, I love McNeal. He really isnt talked about enough. Star? no. Starter? possibly. Very solid role player for a championship team? I think so.

As for the "throw the darts and hope something sticks" thing. If we package the 18/28 and move up we are gonna have a shot at a better prospect while only giving up one other dart at the very end of the 1st round, which to me is no better than a 2nd round pick anyway. Id rather get a shot at 2 quality guys than 1 quality guy, another guy that is probably extremely raw but has some upside and 2nd rounder with a 1st round label.

I've been saying this.
and we better go get Henderson. He would work great next to Evans.

Like the idea, don't like the picks. Really like the idea of picking Euros and stashing them with at least two of the picks. Don't mind combining them, but depends where to move to (for who) and which ones we combine.

I'd rather move up than have 5 rookies. Of course if we draft Casspi, he doesn't need a roster spot this year.

I've been diligently looking around at players in the 2nd round to undrafted area.

For added perimeter defense Paul Harris wouldn't be a bad pickup if he goes undrafted.

"only 6-3 in shoes, but his wingspan is outrageous—6-11 ½. He’s also absolutely jacked at 237 pounds, all 100% muscle. On top of that, he measured a no step vertical of 36 inches, which is off the charts. "
