Rondo for #6?

I'm sure there is no truth to this - why would Boston trade Rondo? - but if there were, I would certainly offer the sixth pick for him.
Tony (Boston,MA)
Do you see the Celtics making a trade for a draft pick? If so for who? Who would the Celtics be trading? I hope NOT Ray Allen!
Chad Ford
They are working it and a number of teams including the Grizzlies (no. 2), Thunder (no. 3), Wizards (no. 5), Raptors (no. 9) and Nets (No. 11) sound open to trading their pick. And they could probably get No. 4 if the Celtics were willing to put Rajon Rondo in the deal.

THey can take Rondo and stick him where the sun don't shine. He is not very good with out Pierce, Allen and KG.

I think he had a real coming out party in the playoffs....10 rebounds and 10 assists per game, along with 2.5 steals and over 16 points. I dont care for him much either and last year I figured he was riding coattails, but I think he came into his own this postseason. You dont put up those kinds of numbers exclusively because of your teammates.

I am not a big fan of his but I would trade the 6th for him in a second.

He use to not be very good without Pierce, Allen and KG. He's progressed very well as a player in the last 2 years.

He may have very well progressed, but put him on a below average team and see what happens...

We should've already gotten him in the KG trade.

I wonder why people think saying this, because I've seen no evidence that Bos would have made a KG deal without at least having a PG on the roster they hope they could start. They barely had a center. Al Jefferson, Gomes and Telfair were all better than expected (Gerald Green worse), we got a $12 mil expiring, and we got two 1sts for a great, but very expensive superstar. But people keep saying we should have had Rondo too.
Anyway, I can't imagine a win-now team like BOS, with three aging stars, would consider upsetting the boat now by trading Rondo. He knows how to play with these guys, and the Celtics don't have the time to risk training a new PG.

Same basis as everything else on this topic so far ... opinion. Most have the opinion he's well worth the 6th pick, and I have the opinion he's very over-rated due to 3 All-Star players on his team. Is he bad? No. Is he worth the #6 to me? No.

I would trade #6 and Mike Miller for Rondo and filler in a second. If Rondo fixes this shooting thing he'll be one of the best pg's in the league.
C's won't trade him anyway for a draft pick unless they add a quality vet pg like Andre Miller...

I don't think he's one of the elite point guards (ie Paul, Williams, or Kidd/Nash in their prime), but he averaged nearly a triple double w/o KG in the playoffs. The C's wouldn't have gotten too far w/o Rondo. Also I really don't see a possible trade scenario that could work for both teams.

Agreed. There was an article I read that said beware of those that have a breakout in the playoffs translating into similar performance in the following season. One of the examples were Hinrich and Deng. They argued that a lot of his breakout was due to KG being out, which I think you can argue both ways.
I think he's a p*** a*** p**** and really don't like him and wouldn't trade #6 for him. But I wouldn't be against some kind of deal for him as he's an above average PG.

Well, not really. Hated him in college. But I've loved him once he got to the pros.

A true statement.
