Would there be a lot of interest in the contract of Stackhouse, It provide immediate salary relief.

Two options:
Stack and Shawne Williams (09 roughly 2.5 million and a QO of 3.4 or so for the following year) for Miller

Or...
Stack, Carroll and Williams for Miller and Cardinal?

Cardinal and Miller are both expirings. And Miller can play.

Yeah, but I didn't know if you'd need roster space based on the fact you've got 3 first rounders and I didn't know the exact layout of the lineup for if you have space for all of them.

I don't get it, you're giving us more players than you're taking back

how about Madsen for the #21 (#22?)? if you ever win it all you need someone who can dance at the parade. I think he can two step.

I'm a big fan of this trade. It wouldn't be bad for us to get the expiring (and be able to beat the MLE in a 2009 free agent signing, but more likely dealing Stackhouse to a third team for non-productive expirings and a pick or young talent. MIL and WAS are two places that could use Stackhouse even more than us.

No interest in Carroll. His contract isn't excessive, but he'd cost us 2010 space under our cap.

I would guess we can get better offers for Miller which include at least a pick or a young talent so I'll have to say no to this one.

The Stack trade wouldn't be bad since Stackhouse has a ton of value because of his partially guaranteed contract... But a definite NO to Carroll unless we get some major compensation.

You'd basically be able to cut stack right away and get savings. Williams can be cut at a cheap price too...so it can free up roster space.

we can do much better than this for miller. stack is only valuable until july 30 when he needs to be cut to realize the cap savings. I only see this working if we get something outstanding for stackhouse from a 3rd team.

We could immediately move Stack somewhere else (I believe you can trade a player by themselves even if they were recently acquired). And we could get a high pick or something in a deal for stack (stack for elson, Ridnour, #10) or something like that. So then we are getting a high pick for miller.

That's the way I see it too.

Mike Miller is more valuable on DAL than Stackhouse
Stackhouse is more valuable on (say) MIL than other cap space and a pick
Other cap space and a pick is more valuable on MIN than Mike Miller

Everybody gets what they need.

just to clarify, I believe August 9th is the dead day for Stack's deal.
