List your preferred coaching candidate as of right now. We have no clue who Kahn is interested in, so we can't be baised.
My pick:
Larry Drew-Assisstant Atlanta Hawks
Reasons:
Has been an assisstant for a long time, on multiple teams.
Would be his first head coaching job so he could grow with the team.
Atlanta has Al Horford (6-10) and ZaZa Pachulia (6-11) at the C and PF positions. While Love and Jefferson may not be as athletic they are atleast similar in size.

I'm not much of a coaching guru but I say we take a chance on Bill Laimbeer. I guess it also depends on what happens in the draft. If we somehow end up getting Rubio I say we need to hire a former PG who can mold Rubio like play-dough into the player we think he's capable of becoming. Otherwise...Bill Laimbeer.

Perfect! Larry Drew was a PG during his playing days in the NBA

There's another thread about this somewhere, but assuming JVG didn't want the job, I'd want either Sam Mitchell or Jeff Bzdelik.

Just say no to Lenny Wilkins.
I think there are some good assistants out there that need a shot. I'd like to see a guy like Mitchell or Lambier on the bench as an assistant - not as head coaches right now.
I agree we need some help coaching/developing guards, regardless ...
A head coach who has been involved with a successfully rebuilt team would be great, than add quality assistants.

There is no way that Laimbeer would take an assistant job. He was on championship teams as a player and has won a couple as a coach in the WNBA. I hear he could be a yeller which may not be good however.
I like the idea of the Popovich's assistant Bzdelik. Mark Jackson would be nice for our rookie PG and he has tons of game knowledge and seems intelligent when he talks about the game.

I'd like to give Laimbeer a shot as well.

PJ Carlisemo is my guy. I think him being around Popavich is the best thing any coach could do to prepare for a head coaching job.

It didn't do him much good in Seattle/OKC.

Van Gundy is at the top of my list, but he's unlikely.
I'm intrigued by Mark Jackson as I think he's got a great knowledge of the game and could be a good fit as we hopefully get our young PG this year. I wouldn't mind seeing Porter and Mitchell as assistants for whomever we get.

Avery. If he wanted it.
