Notes: Love/1st for #2 and Kahn wants coach he can control?

Take these tidbits for what they're worth, this time of year you really can't trust any news source.
Yahoo Sports is reporting that we offered Love and a first for the #2. That better not be the #6 in that offer.
Also that Kahn wants to hire a head coach who he can "hold a hammer over" and that's why Mark Jackson is a likely choice; because Jackson would "owe" Kahn. Also that if Jackson is the choice, Lambieer would likely be on the staff. I didn't know that Kahn used to work with Fratello and that's why his name is surfacing.

I find it hard to believe a decision has been made since Kahn was just on KFAN a couple days ago saying he hasn't even made a list. You would think there will be an interview process before a coach is actually named, but maybe not.

I wonder how much of the "hold a hammer over" comment comes from the fact that it seems like Kahn is working hard to do things his way (because the old way didn't work) and is coming across as a tyrannt or something.
Regardless, If we get Mark Jackson and Bill Laimbeer... I wonder how well they would get along.

Honestly it seems like an opinion piece to me. If Memphis is looking to move down to pick up Evans, they'd have to get our #6, and no way we add Kevin Love to that. If we do, then I'll be pissed at Kahn because it comes across as trying to put his stamp on the organization and completely rid the team of McHale. With that being said, Love wouldn't be tradeable until after June 28th, after the draft.
I put little value in the trade portion of the article.
I think Mark Jackson sounds like an idiot during games. He's also the guy that said Kobe is better than MJ. My hope would be he could help a rookie point guard, and Lambier could instill toughness into our big guys, but those guys together don't get me all too excited.
Lambier has at least coached before. He has a clue of how to run a practice. Jackson has never had to design a practice schedule.

I don't think I'd trade Love straight up for #2.

Neither did Del Negro

Del Negro didn't exactly start the season off so well, either. Now I'm not saying Jackson can't succeed, but to assume because one guy did, another one will is faulty. Also, I want a coach that has GOOD experience and demands respect from the start. Not someone who has his own growing to do.
Plus Mark Jackson annoys me, and that Kobe/MJ comment makes me question his sanity.

Love/6 for Gay/2 wouldn't be the end of the world. I think I could handle that. But not without Rudy.

If anything shouldn't Laimbeer be head coach and Jackson the assistant?

That was my thought, but I can't see Jackson being happy with that due to his ego. He thinks he should be able to step right into a head coaching job. That's why he hasn't coached yet.
Lambier actually has experience. And a couple rings. Yeah they're lady size, but it's basketball.

I wouldn't mind Laimbeer. Unless you're pulling somebody like Phil Jackson or Larry Brown, he's as good as anybody.

I just pictured the WNBA rings looking like this.

and with Laimbeer sporting them proudly.

I've heard theories that if women spend enough time with each other their cycles start matching up. Think Laimbeer's reached that point yet?
