MN/Mem ... alternative

Jefferson/#6 to Memphis ... A knee injury to a PF of Jeffersons style is risky
Conley/Milicic/#2 to MN ... Legit PG and true center fits a role.

Wolves draft Harden #2 (Harden over Evans to replace shooter/Miller traded for Bosh).
Wolves draft Daye using #18/28 to move up.

C = Milcic/Maddog
PF = Love/Smith/Cardinal
SF = Brewer/Daye/Gomes/Miller
SG = Harden/Foye
PG = Conley/Telfair

Starters: Conley/Harden/Brewer/Love/Milicic ...could go Love/Bosh
Reserves: Telfair/Foye/Miller/Gomes/Cardinal/Smith/Maddog ... Outside of Love, we move 2008 starters to reserve roles where they belong.

Trade assets in bold ... use to upgrade/add depth the F/C positions via trade ... Bosh, Smith, etc...

not a good deal. even though Al is injured I assume his value is higher than that.

Horrible for the Wolves. Great deal for Memphis.

I wouldn't trade 23/11 Jefferson for that alone. I am optimistic about the injury.

How'd we go from Love/6 for Gay/2 to Jefferson/6 for Conley/2?

trading Jefferson is way too dangerous right now, he could come back 100% and make us look like fools, he could fail his physical and return to us extremely pissed, the guy we trade him for could bust. Just not worth the risk

Pretty simple ...
Jefferson/Evans? for Conley/Milicic/Harden? ... not that bad.

Draft picks are very risky ... Jefferson has a known season ending knee injury to recover from, any future re-injury and he's done.

I'm not a fan of the trade, but I posted because we need to put Jefferson's injury into perspective, plus, the fact we have two PF's and no center or PG. Something's going to give - just a matter of when. This trade gets us a PG, an okay center, and the #2 pick.

Kahn could be building up Jefferson (and his season ending knee injury) over Love for a reasons ...

Wow, you're an idiot. Jeffeson is one blown knee away from being done now? That's the dumbest thing I've heard. If we trade Jefferson to Memphis it should be Jefferson #6 for Mayo,Gay, #2

Yeah, let's put the injury into perspective. It's a simple ACL tear, an injury that hundreds of athletes get and fully recover from every year. It's not like this is an early 90s micro-fracture surgery.

On top of that, there have been multiple reports that Jefferson's recovery is way ahead of schedule and that he may very well be ready by the beginning of the season.

Yes, and that reason is that Jefferson is the much better player.

Jefferson begins basketball activities in just over a month. He'll be ready by training camp. This proposal is ugly.

oh wow ... that's like night and day, ballboy. Thanks for the tip.

Do you think they'll say, "his injury was really bad and his recovery is questionable"? ... it's the s ame pre-writen statement every time. I'm very willing to wait and see how the recovery goes.

From the man himself: "An elite athlete who has had a technically well performed early reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament followed by an adequate and successful rehabilitation program, should be able to return to their chosen sport in about nine months. This has been achieved by many Olympic and professional athletes".

I'm thinking December if things go well, regardless.

Take out the #6 and Darko and it's worth discussing

Also, maybe add a Cardinal for Buckner swap as well, and maybe let them keep Conley and we get their 2011 1st

That way at least we get a large TPE from Jefferson's salary, and we have Buckner's partially guaranteed contract to move and we can move that cap space and contract for more assets (Washington #5, Milwaukee #10, or a few other teams)

I think it would be a mistake to trade Jefferson or Love for anyone in this draft not named Blake Griffin.
