Ya, I had a feeling he felt like this. What his Dad says is garbage, in the end it's Ricky's decision, and it's always been his dream to play in the NBA so....

Now we're talking. I had faith something like this would come out. It's been a wild ride tonight, not only for all of us, but for him too. In the Spanish article posted earlier, his dad sounded more confused than anything. I really think he'll not only be playing here, but will be excited to do so. I also think he'll be pleasantly surprised by Minneapolis, even if the cold is no joke.

Thanks for posting this, now I can rest a little easier.

I'm a little tired of "cold" being talked about with EVERY free agent or draftee or player we bring in through trade. The local media uses it as the go to colloquial joke while national media plays it like New York is the land of milk and honey and player X NEEEDS to go there, while Minnesota is the ice planet Hoth of Wampas and Tauntauns.

LOL, this damn cold thing is getting on my nerves. We will never escape it. I hope every time we sign a FA or draft a player in the summer we put them in a room with no AC and let them bake. Lets see how much they dread the cold then. I wish it was freezing cold on a few days this week.

The Rubio stuff has definitely been overblown for the past couple weeks. And the cold stuff is definitely overblown constantly. Seriously, is Minneapolis really that different than Detroit, Chicago, Boston, etc.? And last time I checked they play basketbal indoors (and half of the games are out of state anyway).

Yes NY is as cold as Minny during the season, but surely it's also a significantly more attractive place for an 18 year old Spanish kid to be?

Yes, New York may be the "big show" if you will, but when you constantly go "it's cold" when talking about Minny like it's a priority, then you might as well cross off New York and Chicago as well cause it be gettin cold up in those places as well.

Minneapolis is a great and very diverse city. If he can just sit back and dress warm and actually enjoy what the Twin Cities has to offer, I think he'll love it here.

At least in 60 years we'll get the players who prefer to live in cities that aren't underwater?

I don't think it is right to assume every 18 year old kid in the world thinks New York is the center of the universe either. Some people don't like huge cities. I have no idea what Rubio's tastes are, just sayin'.

The Twin Cities has a nice mix of big city things and outdoor activities. It is actually a very attractive place for many people. Just depends on what you value.

Disagree - nothing new or particularly reassuring here. Sopunds like he is saying wait and see. which is what Kahn is also now saying ("we can afford to wait a year or 2"; "buyout is complicated").
