Rubio will NOT be there according to Jerry Zgoda's blog.

A Wolves spokesman said there’s “no conspiracy here” and said Rubio’s agent, Dan Fegan, decided not to have his client come to town because of the uncertainty over Rubio’s unresolved contract buyout with his Spanish team.

He said Rubio is not balking at playing for the Wolves.

David Kahn will be addressing this at the press conference.

Getting Rubio = great. But only if he plays here next year. He has too much leverage in the situation for that to be a given. Hopefully Kahn/Wolves were aware of his intent under this scenario - he still has great trade value. In that case, getting Flynn is also very good.

Making a deal to get #5 with #6 to end up with Rubio and Flynn and to plan to run them together is not good. Something has to give.

A lot of people here are saying things like "one of them will pan out" - that isn't an efficient way to build a team - especially when you subtracted Miller and Foye (not great but not nothing - think Ellington will be better than Miller?) in the process.

Others say "trust in Kahn". I'll give him the benefit of the doubt now and see how things pan out, but why should I have any faith in him?

I really think we need to get him out here so he can see the organization and city. We should really be pushing to get him to come to this press conference. Building a level of familiarity would go a long way towards making his family feel more comfortable.

Kahn knows exactly what's going on. He talked to Fegan before he drafted Rubio ... something will give, soon. I'd bet your mothers hotdish he told Fegan to hang tight.
