http://mn-sz.com/?p=81Beat writer, Jerry Zgoda uncovered trade offers made to the Minnesota Timberwolves on or around draft day. They apparently got an offer from New Jersey, with the Nets offering Devin Harris, Yi Jianlian and the No. 11 in some sort of package for Al Jefferson. Zgoda doesn’t believe they were even considered seriously. The Wolves turned down a Knicks’ offer of No. 8 and Wilson Chandler for the No. 5, of which they would pick Ricky Rubio. Kevin Love did not come up in many of the trade talks, but a statement was issued before the draft saying Kevin Love was not going to be traded.
The Wilson Chandler (only 22 years old) trade offer sounded a little good to me, because they would still have Jonny Flynn with the 6th pick and would fill a hole at the small forward position. Not to mention, they would have the 8th pick, and could pick up Jordan Hill to play in a rotation of the 5 and 6 position along with Kevin Love and Al Jefferson. They could even use Hill as trade bait and could have acquired a young shooting guard to completely fill the line-up.
Who knows, I could be completely wrong. Ricky Rubio has tremendous potential and still carries a lot of value for a potential trade. We will only know down the road.
thanks god.............
please no more trade involving either Jefferson, Love, or Rubio...........everyone else I'm ok as long as its a fair trade and helps our team

in order to become the next Stockalone Big Al should be able to hit the mid range J on a good % which he isn't capable of - yet. I actually could see Love and Rubio becoming the next Stockalone but not as good. just in terms of style of play.

The only way I wouldn't have revolted is if we got Lopez instead of Yi.

Duhon 6.7 might be too great an athlete to aspire to.

Al can knock the mid-range J down, he seemed like our only competent mid-range shooter last year. It's Rubio's shot that would have to improve.

you guys would seriously prefer flynn and an unhappy rubio over flynn (6), derozan (8) and chandler?
a starting 5 of flynn, derozan, chandler, love, and jefferson sounds like a damn good starting 5 for years to come...not sure id be too happy with hahn right now if i was a wolves fan

I'm happy with Kahn. No team in the league is better suited to wait for Rubio. No thanks.

DeRozan and Chandler can't help you win an NBA championship. Rubio can.

of course Al has improved his mid range J but the p'n'r actually is rather taking a mid range J off the dribble/move instead of having your feet set for a while before taking the shot. I also can't really recall seeing the p'n'r being used quite often with Al. that's not a knock on him. just an observation. and it really doesn't put a good light on our (point) guards. but I might be even wrong about it (the whole p'n'r being used).
edit: I think Gomes has the best midrange J on our squad.

Or we could keep a happy Rubio, trade Flynn for a scoring wing and watch Rubio and Love destroy teams with the pick and roll as Big Al dominates in the low post and Rubio throws perfect alleyoops to the wing in transition while the other team watches helplessly with their heads hanging down.

agreed, and just to add on that thought, neither Derozan nor Chandler deserves that wing spot
