Sometimes I just wish...

Post#1 » by prefuse73 » Thu Jul 2, 2009 5:28 pm

I wonder if anyone else wishes that OKC would have just selected Rubio. Harden would have fell to #5 and we could be rolling with a Flynn/Harden backcourt with none of the drama. Maybe they would have kept Lawson or selected Teague (more of a scoring point guard) and keep the Ellington pick.

4 rookies in our two backcourt positions, but clear starters and backups. Teague would have pushed Flynn, but ultimately Flynn's playmaking would have won out.

Jefferson - Thomas
Love - Songalia
Brewer - Gomes
Harden - Ellington
Flynn - Teague

Depends on what happens with Rubio. I'll take a few weeks of drama if in the end, we end up with better players.

I've had that thought. I've also thought about if SAC had just taken Rubio and we'd have an Evans/Flynn backcourt (which is probably what Kahn was planning on). But I agree with TMo519, I'll take a little drama if it works out in the end.

I wish that totally and completely, I'd have been ecstatic to roll w/ Evans or Harden and Flynn.

I would have been very happy with either combo there, but I'm willing to wait and see how this all plays out.

I think about this everyday.

I would love a Flynn/Harden backcourt right now so we can start talking about the future, and not Rubio's buyout + finding a SG.

I wonder if the messy contract situation factored into OKC & SAC passing on him.

1.) We were targetting a specific SF with the 18th. When he was not there we moved the pick. We had 4 teams offer a trade for that pick, Denver with Char pick was the best offer. That pick is worth much more than Teague or Lawson.

2.) Rubio is a better player than harden. I love harden and I love Thabeet, but Rubio is a stud and once we get him on the team we will see it.

As of right now I really wish that OKC or SAC would have picked Stephen Curry. That way the FO potentially would have picked Rubio/Harden or Rubio/Evans. I personally favor Rubio/Harden. But in the end I am fine in waiting and I agree with the others in the end we will have most likely gotten the better player besides Griffin.

Flynn/Harden would not have been bad at all. I do kind of like the fact that we have one of if not the best pgs in Europe as well as one of if not the best big men in Europe. Give this team a couple of years of high draft picks, cap clearing, then invite rubio/pekovich to come over and we should have a solid to great squad.

even if he does stay for 2 years, i hope we stand our ground and keep his rights. If he really is all hype we'll know enough to just keep him away and will have had Flynn running the team for 2 years with Love/Jeff. If he really is the stud we think he is... he'll be 20, 6'4", hopefully 200lbs, 2 years more hardened, and have no choice but to play 4 years for us. I'd be much happier with either of those scenarios than having Chandler or whatever garbage other teams will try to throw at us for 2 years

Then he will be a great trade asset. Plus I would rather have CHA 1st round pick then Lawson.

Bassy is fine as a back-up. It is when he starts and is backed up by Ollie that we have problems.

Honestly, I think Telfair will be starting for most of the season

Geez.....talk about denial

Post#17 » by alphad0gz » Thu Jul 2, 2009 9:35 pm

He is never going to play for you. Not now, not next year, or the year after. Never. I am not intending to flame you guys but he doesn't want to be there. Its not about his buyout, either. Word from his camp was that if he was traded to NY he would report immediately. I imagine there are a few other teams he feels the same about.....both ways.

Then he shouldn't have entered the draft.

Like someone started earlier, I wish Rubio would grow a pair of Fn nuts and become man. If you think you're good enough to play with the best of the best, prove it. If not, don't even enter the Draft ffs.

You have 24 hours to cite this to a legit report otherwise I will request your suspension for trolling.

I want Rubio saying...

1.) He is not going to play in MN this year, or ever
2.) He does not want to be here
3.) It is not about his buy-out
4.) he would report immediately to NY

You have until 5pm Central time Friday.

Or you can admit to being a parrot and GTFO my forum.
