The Other Chandler---trade idea.

A number of sources said last week that the Hornets are again shopping center Tyson Chandler.
New Orleans general manager Jeff Bower could work on making a trade before he offers a contract to any free agent.
In addition, the Hornets could look to move one of their veteran guards, such as Morris Peterson, Antonio Daniels or Devin Brown.
The Hornets are also interested in bringing guard Jannero Pargo, who played overseas this past season, back.

Chandler has 1 year left, Daniels is an expiring.

It seems a little premature, as our goal is to add young talent. But Chandler would be a fine 3rd big next to Love and Al.

I like Chandler, but he doesn't fit with our blueprint at this point. I would rather use any trading chips we've got right now to go after an Outlaw/Fernandez package....

I like the sound of that....The Outlaw Fernandez.....

Etan Thomas can get you 9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per 32 minutes easily

If he is healthy.

I agree that Outlaw and Rudy would be a much better fit. I just do not know if Portland is up for moving them. Portland fans are historically impossible to gauge trade value.

Yeah, I don't even like Chandler. He's already peaked and at this point I think he's in the bottom half of starting centers in the league.

With their mindset, it's just a matter of time before their players rookie deals start expiring and they begin losing their players for nothing. And when they do, the Wolves will have tons of cap space :D

I would make some offers but would not overpay if I was the gm

and it's not like he's 31 he's only 26 or 27 when the season starts.

I'd rather try to sign Chandler when he's a free agent for a reasonable amount, if he's the final piece for us.

27, but Jermaine O'neal is a good indicator of what kind of shape he's going to be in when he's 30 -- only without any offensive moves.

His work ethic was good for one year, he is not a good player.

Now if we were a contender we should try to the deal right away but like I said if we can get a good deal

I don't what do they want?

without trading

Jefferson
Love
Flynn
Rubio
Pecherov
or
Madsen

why not?

Lol I was completely sure he's like 30...
Unless is health-issues are cleared I wouldn't trade for him anyway. I would at least want to know what made OKC decline that deal.

When a team in a similar situation (thunder) threw up the red flag, my desire for him was shot down.

Chandler is an elite man to man defender, rebounder, and finisher at the rim...

Wolves don't have what the Hornets would be looking for though, if they trade Chandler, they want expirings, but they want them as temporary front court depth, where we are as thin as any team in the league.

Surprised that the league is so down on Chandler, he got banged up a bit this year, but he's been tremendous for the Hornets, even playing banged up.

I don't thing Chandler brings anything that Thomas doesn't. Once the 60 days is up I'd probably do:

Thomas + Songalia + smith
for
Chandler + wright

I wouldn't be to thrilled about it, but wouldn't hate it.

That would be highway robbery for the Wolves.

Chandler is a dream player for me next to Jefferson and Thomas is basically a throw in for us why would the Hornets do that?

And why wouldn't you be to thrilled about that, that's like selling a blind kid a dead parrot.
