Another small Por-Min trade

Post#1 » by cpfsf » Sat Jul 4, 2009 1:22 pm

Sorry if it was ever mentioned before

Fernandez for Smith

Not doing it just because he's from Spain (although it doesn't hurt). He's got pretty good size for a shooting guard and has great range. Fernandez was reportedly not happy when Turkoglu was considering playing for the Blazers because it would limit his minutes, but here he may even become a starter while we rebuild.

Edit: sorry, I didn't really study Fernandez before I made the proposal which is why it's so one sided, feel free to fix it.

You may want to bring protection if you bring that to POR board. Remember early on, they were willing to trade Fernandez for Rubio + more.

You would get a bag of donuts for Smith from Portland but not Rudy. :P

My mistake, I need to add more to the trade.

Other than perhaps the Bobcats pick (probably routed to a third team), I don't see what "more" the Wolves have to offer in the right value range.

They would probably want Rubio or Flynn in a trade since PG is one of their weaker positions...

We also have Utah's pick and Pekovic, but I wouldn't want to trade Pekovic for sure. I don't see a whole lot of trades working unless your not that high on Pek.

I think Rudy could help us some but he is not worth Flynn in any way shape or form. That would be a steal for Portland. There are a few high quality POR guys out there but trying to propose a deal for Rudy on their board would be an exercise in futility.
