Facilitate a Marion S&T

Apparently the Raptors and Mavericks are trying to find a 3rd team for a Marion sign and trade. The raptors need to move some salary to be able to manage it.
Since Anthony Parker might not be back for them anyway, we could take him as a stopgap at SG for the year(he's a 40% 3pt shooter) in return for a 2nd rounder or some other sweetener. Issues?
*edit: took out the possibility of keeping him longer than a year, due to his age.

Parker is 34, not 27.
Are you sure you were looking at the right (An)t(h)ony Parker when you built this thread?

You are correct. I'm not sure what I was looking at.
He is still a possibility as a stopgap at SG, although not for keeping long term.

Isn't Parker a FA? Maybe you were thinking Joey Graham?

The article I read claimed Parker had a year left, and I'm at work so I didn't have time to check into it. Sorry about that.
Unless there's another player to switch in, we can leave this. I'm a lot more keen on my other suggestion that we go for Bill Walker anyway.

Yeah, Parker is a free agent who will most likely sign with a contender.
I don't see away where we are able to help facilitate a sign and trade since there's not any players obtainable from either team that are worth taking.

Couldn't they pull off a trade similar to the Carney trade and obtain a future 1st Rd pick?

Well in this case the first would have to be coming from Dallas, since they are the one's getting the most incentive out of the deal. Toronto has no reason to give up a first in this deal.
So what the Wolves would have to do is take on a player's salary and then get a first from Dallas--
But do the Wolves want to buy another late first rounder? Probably not I'm guessing.
Essentially a deal might be something like ---
Humprhies + Dallas 2010 first to MN
Marion to Dallas
Stackhouse to Raps
But then we would have to pay Humprhies, have no playing time for him, and then have to buy out another player (probably Brown or Pecherov) which would cost us even more money all for another late first. It's just not going to be worth it for us.

As this is about the raptors.
The Raptors will extend the contract of Andrea Bargnani on a five-year deal starting in the 2010-2011 season.
The contract will be worth $50 million.
Why in hell does Bargnani deserve a $10 million contract per year? I mean he has developed into a solid nba player but 10 million? Thats crazy

Well, he's a 7ft young player who has upside, can hit the 3 and his free throws and averaged 15pts/5rebs last year. How much is that guy worth according to today's nba salaries?
