Do we have the potential to be the worst team in the NBA?

So who's going to be worse than us during the 2009/10 season

I honestly thought there was a realistic possibility we were going to be the worst team in the NBA, but I think Houston may give us a run for our money now that Artest has been traded, Ming's decision to opt for surgery, and McGrady still recovering.

did anyone really think Washington would be dead last and the Kings would be the runner up? or vice versa, I don't know which one was worse but you get the point. heck people said New Jersey would be among the dead last and they didn't finish that bad. let's see what happens I'd say. plus the offseason is far from over.

Talent and personnel wise it's a possibility but I think in reality basti is right and some team will find a way to out-lose us. Each of the last 3 seasons has seen one of the worst 2 records in the league come from a team that was in playoffs the year before. Washington last year, Miami 2 years ago, and Memphis 3 years ago. I think we will be a no doubt bottom feeder but will not finish with the worst record.

Will Al come back healthy? Will Love and Brewer show big improvement in their jump shots? Is Rubio coming this season? If he does will he work well with Flynn? If the answer is yes to all of these, then no, we won't be the worst team in the league.

I was thinking the same thing, how everything is appearing and how the media is making us out to be, ya we are the worst team, BUT i think we will be better than SAC, maybe OKC, and surprise pick..HOU believe it or not

I think Houston won't be the worst team just because of their coaching. I'm sure they'll play defense.

Speaking of coaching who will be our coach? I think it's too early to tell how bad we're going to be.

Well, SAC, like us, will be pretty painful.

Well this same Houston team without Tmac/Yao took the Rockets to 7 games.(except for Artest who was shooting 38% in the playoffs) They're a gritty mentally tough team that will be in every single game this upcoming season. What they lack in talent, they make it up in knowledge, hustle, experience, teamwork etc. I don't think Rockets will be anywhere near the bottom of the lottery. As a Rocket fan, i would welcome the opportunity to draft John Wall.

Well you had Yao for a few of those games.
Brooks was a matchup nightmare for the Lakers, and that's not so true for the rest of the league.
Battier another year older.
Wafer also a goner?

You guys are forgetting about New Jersey. They have a chance to be brutal.

I don't like using the word "potential" in such a negative sense but I really doubt that we end up with the worst record in the league. There's a chance but not very high.

I'd probably give it around a 50% chance that the Wolves will be the worst team next year. On paper, the roster will probably be worse than anyone, Sacramento would be close, but there may be injuries to other teams that would put them below Minnesota.

You serious? With a core of Harris, Lee, and Lopez, they won't be brutal. Plus, they play in the East.

Last year's Clippers will be next year's Grizzlies. A bunch of ballhogs that don't play much defense. (Hopefully they don't get Wall)

I don't know why but I really want Blake Griffin to succeed for the Clippers and hopefully he can change the team's attitude by leading by example. If he has to threaten a few people so be it, he's jacked.

I don't see them being much better than the Wolves were last year, and that was brutal.
