Scroll down to #4 on the list. Is he a good idea for the vet minimum or no? He is a shooter at a position of need, and if we can get him for the minimum I'd be willing to give him a shot. The guy needs to turn his career around. What better way then on a young team like us?

Nice numbers at less than 20 mpg. And he just turned 24 yesterday.

Sure, why not?

Pass...we don't "need" a SG. Best case scenario this guy helps us win a few more games, loses the attitude etc. To me this is actually a bad thing because he wouldn't be in the long-term plan and we don't need to win games now. We're developing a team for the future so we don't need to fill positions now with garbage. Worst case scenario he becomes a cancer and we get rid of him. Also bad. Double-negative is not a positive.

I'd think he'd get a bit more than the vet minimum.

I'd be very interested in Wafer. He came out too early, but he's got potential, and he flashed it last year.

Couple of interesting Wafer notes:

-He finished 2nd to LeBron in the Dunk Contest in the McDonald's All-America game coming out of high school.

-His cousin used to work for the Gopher's basketball team, helping recruit high school players. She was pretty attractive.

Looks like I'm outnumbered here. OK, I realize he's a decent player but I just see the questionable attitude as a concern. I'll compromise and say that if we trade Q-rich away first I'd probably be interested in Wafer. I'm such a conformist....:(

Edit: speaking of his attitude I'm not really too familiar with the situation he had. Maybe I'll go ask the Houston board about his so-called attitude problem.

I have a feeling that if we picked him up he wouldn't play at that high level like last yr, but he is 24 shouldn't cost us too much, good potential, i'd go for it.

I can't find anything more than message board rumors about it...

so I don't think it's official. They may be in talks, though.

I did read a fan post on the suns board that at least this fan thought that Robin Lopez, Channing Frye, Earl Clark, Von Wafer and Taylor Griffin would be a solid young core to develop. That gave me an appreciation for the young guys we have on our roster.

he's the hot chick at the party who also happens to be insane, a seemingly attractive option to fill your needs, but ultimately a very bad idea

The Houston board is saying mostly negative things about wafer..
He thinks he's way better than he actually is.

he's like an iverson type player, but without the same talent.

i dont think he has formally signed with phoenix. he's kind of a hot head. basically hes a teenager with a attitude problem.

DSW, is that Jordan and Pippen pulling the exact same move for the same results?

yes, that's them killing the sorry Hornets baseline repeatedly

MJ iso'ing Vlade Divac in the corner? Hey, that's a mismatch!

I love that half the team watches as MJ adds to his greatness instead of playing help defense for Vlade.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear that was the Wolves help defense.

What's the maximum one year deal we could offer Wafer without touching the MLE?

Whatever it is, I would be happy to offer Wafer that.

Whatever the bi-annual exception is.

Wafer = NO.
