Class act all the way. While his contributions on the court might not have shown up on the stat sheet and he had his limitations on the court, I think every team needs a guy like Madsen.

dude was solid, and was kinda useful: always physical; got under a lot of guys skin with his need to always be pushing/grabbing/leaning, always good for 6 smart fouls a night, crisp picks, and hard blockouts. absolutely a ZERO talent player though, no offensive game since he played on the JV squad in HS, by all means never belonged in the NBA muchless NCAA. all hustle/hard work. glad to have had the pleasure of meeting him. great guy, hope he comes back in some office/PR capacity.

lacked game on the offensive side granted, but his defense was pretty good and he always fought tooth and nail for every loose ball

My brother has been wanting Maddog gone for ages. He cares for nothing but results and I understand his desire to see him traded but the Maddog was a great addition to the personality of the squad.

I agree that Mark is a class act. I will miss his sideline antics and forever cheering. Offensive skill set was low - but effort, defense and annoyance were always there. Never complained about playing time and did not ask to be traded once Garnett left - which is the reason he came here.
I am worried about who will be players union rep. Noone comes to mind on our team that I would
want to add that pressure to. All of our players are young with very little union experience. Although it wasn't a tough position with the Timberwolves in recent years, it could get ugly during the upcoming collective bargaining agreement rehash. I can't think of the last issue we have had that the palyer union rep had to becme involved in.
If these players were our union rep...
Jefferson would stare everyone down no matter if they voted his way or not.
Love may over analyze what needs to be said or done.
Gomes would try to reason with and be polite to everyone involved.
Forget our newest addition Q - not mature enough

I'm a huge Mad Dog fan. Used to have season tickets at Stanford when he played there and he was a big reason for the program's emergence in the late 90's.
Never very skilled on offense, but a beast of a rebounder, a very tough defender (played an amazing game against Tim Duncan and Wake Forest to give Stanford the win in the NCAA Tournament back in 98), a high energy guy, and someone that you could always count on to push the team.
Its obviously the twilight of his NBA career, but I think he has stuck around for his intangibles and his occasional ability to knock bodies around and annoy the hell out of opposing big men.
He's definitely a class act and that letter just proved it once again.

I can remember this story about the deaf kid whose hearing aid was broke and Madsen made some calls to provide him with a brand new hearing aid. class act all the way.
