Timberwolves Focus Group

Post#1 » by PeeDee » Tue Jul 28, 2009 7:48 pm

I got invited to be part of a Timberwolves Focus Group on Thurs... did anyone else?

Here is what the email said...

The Minnesota Timberwolves are working hard to improve our brand, including our relationship with our fans. As part of this effort, we are conducting research with fans. As a valued fan of the Wolves, your opinions are very important to us, and we would like to include you in this research.

Anything you guys want me to bring up at the meeting?

Have you already maxed out this weeks trade scenario's? Man, you are getting WAY too efficient at maximizing cap space, creating trade exceptions, and correcting other fan bases. :)

It has allowed alot of ideas for new trades though. The roster flux means more going back to thte drawing board and restarts as to who we can trade and what we are looking for.

As for the group, no invite here. My thoughts. Tell them to stick with the plan. Don't listen to the national media. Find good young players/prospects. And be ready to be even more active next summer, maybe not in terms as in as many trades, but bigger caliber trading. Also, the tickets need to remain cheap to get rears in the seats again this year. and Don't trade Rubio without a great payback.

I think your primary focus should be to ensure that Dollar Dog night be moved to Tuesday. I will create some pie charts for you.

Dollar dog night is the sole reason I got to see my friend expel diarrhea in a Minneapolis alley. I will do everything in my power to ensure Dollar Dog Night is EVERY NIGHT.

Dollar Dog night every night would be an amazing start. Skimpier dancer outfits as well.

I would comment on the dancers and routines and accessibility to all the different sections, but this would be a step in a direction I could get behind...

I could get behind it, in front of it, underneath it, on top of it... I could give it my full on support for a good 30-35 seconds. Then I'd need to take a break and watch the evening news.

^ That's what I though when I first read the title. I didn't realize being a Wolves fan was THAT damaging.

There should be one for the Twins too, although it seems like they might be picking it up again

Bring up how the promotion with free tickets to last years home opener at target was great, and they should do it again.

Please, the Twins have the state's undying support for eternity. Every outfielder could stab all the newborn babies that came into the world today through the eye with a pen and people will still pack the seats game night and buy the gear.

I think we need a more intricate way of involving the howl. Arrrroooing doesn't get enough respect.

How about he AROOOO whenever we are on defense, or whenever the other team's best player(s) touch the ball?

That's the way it would be in college I think.

One thing that I've never really understood is why small market teams, like Minnesota, don't try harder to extend their fan base into bordering states (like Iowa). It seems like there are a lot of basketball fans around here that are waiting for a good reason to cheer for a specific team.

They should play some preseason games down here or something. The Iowa Cubs play in Des Moines and the Chi Cubs are HUGE here.
