I love how our front office, and now coach, write us love letters.

http://blogs2.startribune.com/blogs/wol ... is-speaks/

Dear Wolves fans,

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to be the head coach of the Timberwolves. I want to thank Glen Taylor and David Kahn for giving me this opportunity.

As dedicated Wolves fans, you have been through some tough seasons recently. Nobody likes losing, especially me. But when I look at the players on this team now and how we are positioned for the upcoming seasons, I am truly optimistic that we have a bright future. There is some outstanding young talent on our team — talent that we can develop and nurture.

I look forward to building this young team into a playoff contender. I enjoy getting out on the floor with young players, instructing them and doing whatever it takes to help them improve. I’ve always been a big believer that extra time put in now will pay off in the future. So my coaching staff and myself will put in whatever time is necessary to make our players better.

In my many years as a player, I had to work hard and give an all-out effort to be effective. I will ask the same of my players. We will be an aggressive, hard-working, entertaining team. I believe we can develop an exciting brand of basketball that you will enjoy watching at Target Center.

I know it’s a new situation here with new faces on the roster and probably more changes to come. I look forward to providing an atmosphere where our players can thrive — an atmosphere where our core players can grow and new players feel welcome as they are blended into our system. And I hope to create, with your help, an energized atmosphere inside Target Center that will truly make it a fun place to be.

My family and I are excited about this new challenge and looking forward to settling in the Twin Cities. I hope to get a chance to meet and talk to many of you in the coming months.

Go Wolves,

Kurt Rambis

Unfortunately, we might be in for a hail storm of bad Laker trade proposals featuring Walton.

Laker postesr already got them stirred up here, on the Trade Board, and General Discussion boards with posts like these:

Killua wrote:Umm Rambis said on LA Raido he wanted to bring walton with him to help him setup the Tri so he could have 2 great passing fowards. He thinks that Walton and Love they can run a very good triangle.

enlightenment wrote: And on LA radio Rambis would like to make a move for Walton so he can have 2 great passing forwards made for the triangle.

Obviously this is untrue because it would be tampering with Walton already under contract with another team, and the OP was unable to provide a link. Still, I have a feeling that's not going to matter to Laker fans who really want to dump Walton, so get ready for more gunk like this.

Should we rename the thread at the top of the page to "LA visitors please read..."?

ha...perhaps. But I am unsure of the literacy rate of LA posters.

Rambis knows the Lakers want to dump Luke.
Luke has fallen out of the rotation as of late.
Luke would get a good amount of rotation minutes/ possible starting position. This plus a change of scenery might light a fire under his a$$.
Luke knows the triangle.
Rambis wants to use it.
Minny has expirings that would make this deal seamless.

all this IMO = Luke to MIN.

Would you mind repeating the exact same ideas over and over again in post after post after post? I think you're on to something but until I've seen it in print 1000 times I have trouble grasping a person's point.

A player who has fallen out of the rotation and needs a fire lit under his arse who is paid 5 million dollars for the next four seasons is not worth an expiring contract, especially going into what will possibly be the best free agent class in NBA history.

What's to be unsure about? This one can't possibly be literate.

Exactly. What part of your facts LA Warrior brings Luke Walton and his contract even close to being worth expirings?

Well his contract is 4 more years but it can be moved in 3 due to being an expiring. He would be a player/coach type role. he brings championship experience. and keep in mind that last 2 years has had some bad luck with injuries. he could be much improved as long as he stays healthy.

So your pitch is this: He's fallen out of favor, he needs a fire lit under his a**, and he's got a bad back, but he's moveable in 3 years.

Seriously dude - don't go into sales.

Does anyone have the Rambis news conference am curious what he said about his time in LA...

Walton is one of the best passers in the league coupled with a unselfish style of play.. sadly he does not have a jump shot to back it nor is he great defensively against small forwards... but u have to love his intensity..

But Mitch Kupchik gave him a much larger and longer contract than he deserved.. just like he did with Bynum..

Trading him would help lakers financially thats all which i dont think Buss cares at the moment.. if not he is a good bench person to have..

Exactly. I think Walton could be the kind of player to make me give up on this team. There are worse players out there, but there's no point in spending the money and years for a guy that knows how a system works, but can't be successful in it.

since when is Walton one of the best passers in the league?? Chris Paul and Steve Nash and Jason Kidd are some of the best passers in the league. Hedo/Garnett/Diaw are some of the best passing big men in the league, so where does Walton fit in?

Rambis has said nothing about bringing the triangle to the land of 10,000 lakes.

stop trolling, PLEASE.
