There is a prediction thread on the trade board, I thought I'd start one here for the wolves

My predictions

Trade 1: with New Orleans
Atkins/Songalia/Brown/Pecherov for J. Wright/A. Daniels/Butler/3 million cash

Trade 2: with LA Lakers
QRich for Farmer, Morrison

Final Roster
Flynn/Farmer/Daniels
Brewer/Ellington/Butler
Gomes/Wilkins/Morrison
Love/Wright/Cardinal
Jefferson/Hollins/Siler

Good topic, and good trades.

With Butler moved the Hornets payroll is down to $73.8 mil, and the cheap, small market Shinn is now within striking distance of the lux, and perhaps a bonus $3 mil by retaining their lux share. Since we can provide 2009 cap space, I could see us being decent trading partners. However, with NOH getting the better of its trading partner in its last two deals, I'd be dang sure if I was MIN that I wasn't being taken.

I've looked at the LAL deal for a few weeks too. Q-Rich is obviously more productive than Farmar and Morrison, and it saves them a roster spot too. However, when I posted it on the Lakers board, it received little interest.

First, it costs LAL $1.5 mil, and doubled for lux, that's $3 mil. According to Laker fans, despite huge revenues, and being the defending champs, Dr. Buss is very concerned about adding payroll.

Second, Farmar may be bad, but he might be needed as a third stringer. MIN could do a seperate deal, trading Bobby Brown for one of Mbenga or Powell, but I don't know.

I think LAL has other deals to do, and its close enough to be an option if it helps them complete another trade, but I have my doubts. Would we give up our last roster spot for a $1.5 mil TPE? I think I would.

I think that the twolves should trade q-rich and brian cardinal to the hawks in exchange for josh smith he would be a young forward that could team up well with al and k-love.

I also think they should resign Rodney Carney he showed potential last season as a 3-pt man and fast breakout winger.

Josh Smith's best position is the 4, so I don't see that working out.

Kurt Rambis will be a house in Eden Prairie or possibly Mound. Q-Rich will find an apartment downtown and, whatever floor he lives on, will choose to wear that number for the Wolves. Damien Wilkins, after receiving misleading information, will try to build an igloo on the Target Center roof. Darius Songalia will plan to commute from the DC suburbs. Ryan Hollins, after losing his entire earnings in a mid-level Ponzi scheme, will wander the streets on Minneapolis at night.
