Saw this on the Bucks board, very interesting
Sick of all the Rubio and Rambis talk anyways..
My least favorite move is between Marco Jaric deal and letting Chauncey Billups walk
Whats yours?

Ray Allen and a pick for Starbury
*technically Allen and Drew Lang for Marbury*

At the time, the KG trade. In hindsight, Roy-Foye.

Wittman replacing Casey was another bad move, but i'd go with Roy-Foye

I remember being upset over the Tyrone Corbin for Thurl Bailey.
I hated Trader Jack's Luc Longley for Stacey King trade.
In retrospect, both of these weren't as hurtful to the team as the Roy/Foye trade.
The Marbury trade hurt in that he was a headcase, but that would've been tough to predict at the time of the trade.

1. Never creating a strong core around KG except for 1 season, 2nd season had same core but injuries and contract disputes ruined that season.
2. Roy/Foye
3. Cassell and 1st for Marko and whoever else that was involved.
4. Joe Smith contract
5. Loved it at the time, Allen for Marbury. But looking back it would have been great to see those two together earlier in their careers.

Roy/Foye trade is probably the worst in terms of looking at how successful Roy has been in Portland. There is no guarantee he would've had the same success here in Minny. If he would've KG could possibly still be here sooo...ya worst move ever.

Not signing Sam and Spree to extensions after reaching the WCF and letting that drag into the season.

if I'd go by my feelings I'd say definitely the KG trade as it ended an era. I know we got a great deal but I'm just going by my feelings.
valuewise (and somewhat connected to my 1st point as it might have prevented us from trading KG) the Roy/Foye trade.
the Cassel +1st for Jaric was a bad one as well in hindsight.

I'll go Marbury for Allen given the tremendous impact it had on the franchise's inability to surround KG with talent. He would have spaced the floor for KG and given us someone else on the team who could put up 20 while also preventing KG from having to carry the load all game every game.
Besides this team is cursed when it comes to point guards, as evidenced by today's trade of Rubio to the Knicks for Eddy Curry and a bag of chips, one of which will have disappeared by the time they reach MN (unfortunately it's not Curry).
For sentimental reasons I'll say the Doug West deal though, man did that hurt.

I have not looked it up but are you referring to his alcolohism, him being traded for A. Peeler, or something else that I was too young to remember.

As far as a move that I hated? Probably the Cassell Jaric 1st trade. That really pissed me off. Then I saw Jaric play and man... How could you be so off in judging talent?
The most impactful? I'd probably say Marbury/Allen. At the time it was a great deal but it blew up in our face and really messed the franchise up. Ray Ray and KG could have had something good going for a long time.
I was also pissed that Witt got the keys to the franchise for two years and didn't have to deal with the scrutinyey did.
Not firing Kevin McHale after about 4-5 years of his regin as GM
70 percent of the draft choices we have made sense the franchise has been in fruition.

not spending Spree's expiring, our last remaining asset and missing an opportunity to compete w/ some weak contenders in that 2004-2007 time-frame

Two things top the list for me. Joe Smith fiasco and Mark Madsen given the green light to tank.
