55 Games To Be Televised

You’ll see 20 fewer locally televised Timberwolves games this season, from 75 last season to 55 this season.
Most of those games cut come from the Ch. 45 schedule, which has 15 games this season after 35 games season. FOX Sports North still will show 40.
Of those 55, 28 will be road games, 27 Target Center games.

they could have at least waited until the Rubio issue was solved. once Rubio comes over (which seems more and more likely to happen) I think Ch. 45 will regret broadcasting 20 fewer games.

Ugh, this pisses me off to no end, fewer freaking games! Every time I had to miss a game last year because it wasn't on tv it irked me. That was only like 8 times. Now almost half the damn games wont be on! Man I want to kick 45's ass right now. Somebody call up seven!

it probably won't help you anyway as the majority of those non-broadcasted games are likely vs other small market teams like Memphis or Sacramento and they probably won't be broadcasted by their local stations either.

It’s complete crap. St. Cloud, Mankato, Rochester, Faribault, and Owatonna are all in an area where they are too close to the city for League Pass Broadband but too far to make it in for a live game.

What the heck is 45 going to show anyway? Wild re-runs? More Everybody Love Raymond!? Get the eff out of here with that crap! Man, this is why Minnesota pisses me off, nobody takes basketball seriously around here. They must have gotten crap ratings last year. Argh... what other team around here is missing 33 percent of their games?

I wonder how much the Favre signing played into this decision

time for Glen Taylor to step up and buy a channel and broadcast all his games on it.

It better be the road games that they're showing, so we at least have an OPTION to catch the live home games. I HATE when away games aren't on tv.

So all the games will be blacked out?

The previous news on this subject made it sound like the T-Wolves wanted less games shown in attempt to get more people at Target Center.

LOL I remember that. Who's behind that plan? People actually have to be interested in the team to show up in the first place.
The revolution will not be televised.

If Rubio comes over as rumored, I can see the Wolves hoping to draw at the gate. If they televise a few early games and generate some some excitement, it could work in their favor.
No question I'll buy a couple/few games once the Rube is in, but they need to earn their way from there. Money is still tight on the country-side and there is alot of new competition (Favre, Gopher Stadium, Twins Stadium, etc) in the mix for the almighty sport dollar - in a relatively small MN market. Wolves games and UFC shows are basically the only reason why I have cable. If I can find a cheap and easy way around that, I would cancel my cable subscription.
Too bad it wasn't FSN cutting more of the games.
I'm going to 12 games this year, so that will soften the blow.

I wonder if this affect Jim and Tom. They will have far fewer games to announce for, are they paid on a game by game basis or does that not matter?

Well, Jim has a second income. But I'd think its a salary job rather than being paid on a game-by-game basis.
