Brewer update

Post#1 » by revprodeji » Thu Sep 3, 2009 2:37 am

Saulo in MN:
Hows Corey Brewer? Looking like MIP? I always thought he was an important part of our young core (build around him, al jeff and love.. now flynn).. but some people are already labeling him a bust..what do you think?

Mike Moreau:
Man, he looks terrific - flying around the gym, over the rim, shooting it well. He's smart, coachable, locked in, and can absolutely be that energetic, athletic, lock down defender! Expect him to quiet those naysayers.

Good to hear, i'll be the first to admit that i have bashed Brewer in the past, and continue to question him, but i just hope he can show this "improvement" on the court and prove a lot of people wrong (including me) i just want him to play like he did at Florida, if not better.

His skill set fits a need as well as fits those around him. I think if his confidence is up he will be more valuable than Foye was last year. Simply because of what he will bring in energy, defensive ability and potentially spot shooting.

Coach Rambis speaks highly of Corey as well. This is good news.

all he has to do is exactly what Hassel was with the KG teams. Play defense and limit mistakes, and extra shots and dunks are icing on the cake. If he can do that he will be a success.

I guess I'm plazing devil's advocate here but I feel like I've heard such comments at least once so I'm going to hold my judgement until I see wjat je's capable of.

but I wish these comments are 100% true and Corey's finally showing what he's capable of.

I believe he's kicking for the Saints again due to their kicker being suspended for 4 games. That actually might be a decent pick up for the first for games. I'm going to drop Vinatieri. Thanks!

I'm a Brewer fan, but I hope everyone keeps this bold opinion in perspective ... this guy has created an expectation that is pretty high for most NBA players.

Brewer is a legit team player who can serve several needs for a winning basketball team - plain and simple. I see no need to get all giddy like this Moreau guy. Bottom-line: Once Brewer gets the strength and matures, he'll acquire the confidence to be a very good player for a long time in the NBA.

I see him at worst as Nicolas Batum was last year. At best, Trevor Ariza.

I have still never lost my faith in Brew Crew. He started off last year with tremendously improved shooting. All we need him to do is play tenacious d and hit open jumpers. Also, our new running game plays to his strengths quite well. If he stays healthy he could contribute very nicely, which will help his confidence, which will help his performance, which will help his...........etc...
