I got to go to work in a bit, but what do you all think about Vazquez. I'm not too high on him or the trade I'm about to propose since we got Pekovic, Love, and Jefferson, (not to mention the contraction situation) but just for fun here goes. Ellington for Vazquez.

Fran Vazquez was the #11 pick in the 2005 NBA draft. He opted to play for FC Barcelona (Rubio's team) instead of the Magic. He's 6'10", rebounds, blocks, and plays defense. He is elgible to play in the NBA in 2011-12 when he will be 28 years old. If he comes over it gives us a great defensive presence, if not we lose a bench player for nothing.

I dont see any reason Vasquez will ever come over, so no. I like Ellington. I'd offer Stewie and get laughed at, but i could care less.

I want an all star team of Spaniards that don't want to play in the NBA

Hmmm... interesting, at least.

I don't think Fran Vazquez will ever come over, but maybe with Rubio, they might encourage each other to come over? I don't know though -- Fran is 26, so would that be hard for an 18 year old to relate with .. if that 16 year old had spent his last four years around adult pro players?

I wouldn't offer Ellington though. I'd ask for Fran as a throw-in where we were sending ORL a vet at the trade deadline, like a Gomes for Ryan Anderson and JJ Redick .. + Fran. Keep in mind that Vazquez carries a cap hols of $1.7 mil that would eat into our 2010 cap space.

No trades for Frannie until he dumps the girlfriend that wouldn't let him come to the US.

Our 3 man Euro team (pekovic, Vazquez, Rubio) Would be able to beat our best 3 man group here(Al, love, Flynn) That is not good.

I want to see what Ellington can do. I think he was a good pick.

I thought about going after Vazquez's rights yesterday but i would not give Ellington. I was thinking something more like a couple of 2nd rounders. Maybe the rights to Nikola Pekovic + a 2nd rounder.

Are you drunk?

Pekovic is younger, and the better player, and much more likely to come over.

Apparently, from your contributions to this thread, you have never seen Pekovic play.

How can you say Pekovic/Vazquez/Rubio is better than Jefferson/Love/Flynn?

Alright, i admit i don't know much about Pekovic but i must have missed something really serious if he could be better than Jefferson, lol.

So, what about 2 2nd rounders for Vazquez's rights?

Also, why would he be easier to bring in than Vazquez? Pekovic plays for Panathinaikos that is usually willing to overpay players.

2 2nd rd would be perfect.

Pekovic is a starter. he is very good. I like Al better, but Pekovic is a nice nice player. Kendrick Perkins like but on offense, not defense. I would assume he matches marc Gasol's production if given the same opportunity.

one question: Pekovic's contract expires in 2 seasons from now? If that's the case wouldn't it be difficult to sign him if Rubio comes over.

Assuming Wolves is over the cap, they could only sign one unsigned rookie for big money (MLE) and you never know what might happen because of the global financial situation.

If it's two years from now, then Pekovic gets the MLE, and Rubio gets the rookie scale. If you're talking 3 years from now, then Pekovic would already be here, and Rubio could get the MLE again.
