Actually, he played in the Eurobasket qualifying tournament. His Montenegrin national team made the jump to Division A from Division B I believe, but the competition he went against was quite weak in this tournament. Holland, Austria, Iceland, Denmark and Sweden are all weak basketball countries. Still, he did what he was supposed to do, and is known for doing.

nice find Shrink but this is not the EuroLeague you're talking about. the stats you posted are from the EuroCup or the qualifiers/preparation tournaments.

this clearly shows how much ignorance the american basketball has

as mnWI mentioned the competetion was really bad. I can't recall ever reading or hearing about any decent big man from any of these countries (okay maybe Holland).

Shouldn't he dominate on the boards more than 5 per against that competition?

Watch him jam all over Rubio's ass and then howl in his face like a wolf because he's coming over that year and Rubio isn't and he's so excited that the Wolf-beast within breaks out.

Scoring  Doubt he does it on Panathinaikos with so many other scoring options, but he was 4th in the Euroleague in scoring at the age of 22 with Partizan.

Based on the fact that he already was the best C in the Euroleague this year (all Euroleague first team) and he's getting better and better. He really has the potential to be the best player in Europe in 2010.

Very nice. I still get the feeling that we will be trading him, but I like a physical center.

At this point, I would rather use the cap space on an established NBA player.

Unless you trade that cap away, and sign him with the MLE.....you know, if you're into that sort of thing.

cap space is not the issue. He will be well worth the MLE contract he could get. The issue is that he should be starting and we cannot give him that. So we should move him for a wing to a team where he can start. Anyone wanna call Atlanta?

while I definitely agree with you that 5 boards against weak competition are waaaaayyyyy too few, it's quite common in Europe that even the elite big men average between 7-9 boards a game. even in the minor leagues you rarely have more than 3 players averaging more than 10 boards. I don't really know the exact reasons as to why it is like that but I think it's pace, less minutes and more team play (yes it applies to rebounding as well)
