After completing a buyout with the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, guard Sasha Pavlovic(notes) has agreed in principle on a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Pavlovic, 25, was traded to the Suns with Ben Wallace(notes) in the Shaquille O’Neal(notes) trade in June. He played five seasons with the Cavaliers before the deal. With proceeds from the Suns buyout, Pavlovic will make $2.75 million this season.
Pavlovic’s role with the Cavaliers diminished last season. The Timberwolves’ new coach, Kurt Rambis, was a big proponent of signing Pavlovic, a source said.

I like Pavlovic on a cheap one year deal.... He could even be someone we trade at the deadline. I'm really hoping this means that Wilkins gets no minutes.

Yeah, he'll help with spacing for Al and Love, and Sessions or Flynn can kick it out to him I guess.
Not too surprising a move. I sure wouldn't call it significant though.

One year deal? That's perfect then. Roster stands at 15 with Blount and Atkins still to deal with. Can't complain about this.
Big SG who can knock down an outside shot. Nothing to get too excited about, but it's not a bad move.

We might be selling this one cheap.
here is the hoopshype on him
Pretty good athlete... Quite long... Good shooting skills... One of the top Euros when it comes to defense... Must improve decision making... Doesn't really excel in any area of the game.
Those are things we need..
He was decent with Clev before last year, shooting .405 from 3 one year. I guess it is a no-risk, low reward situation. If anything it gives us another expiring contract.
"significant" makes me think Rambis likes the guy enough to give him a chance.

The knicks in serious talk with Ramon Sessions, we signed him to an offer sheet
The knicks was just interested in Sasha Pavlovic, we signed him a few hours later
