Collison for Blount?

Would the T-Wolves trade Blount in exchange for Nick Collison? Seems like a good deal for everyone. T-Wolves get a better player, Thunder get more 2010 cap space.

By "everyone" you do mean "the thunder" right? Because this would be awful for the Wolves. Why would they give up 6.75 million in 2010 cap room for the marginal upgrade in a bench forward? Again...awful.

Thunder would do that because you could pick a name out of a hat and have a 50/50 chance of pulling a name that'd be a better value at 7 mil. Cap space, or "raw cap space" as shrink likes to call it, or just "sushi cap space" as I like to call it > Nick Collison

I get "raw" when I'm talking about space underneath the salary cap, that would be a tradable commodity. I just call it cap space if it saves a team payroll anywhere else, like going from $68 to $64 mil. Now I'll use it in a sentence.
"DANG - if we traded for Collison, we'd have $6.75 mil less in raw cap space we could trade next year!"
Incidentally, this deal narrowly misses cap matching by about $60,000 so it wouldn't be allowed by the CBA anyway.

ThunderPoke, if you can turn Collison into expirings with anyone else .. even completely unproductive expirings .. then I think MIN would be willing to do a three-way to send you Blount.

so it's broiled? Or just a light baking, maybe 375 for 20 minutes

So this team now likes "raw" cap space as opposed to "cooking" the books? Trendy.

I am scared about what we want to do. I thought expirings would be dealt for a legit player, but the buy-out on "Contract" worries me.

Maybe Kahn feels he can buy us a good FA next year??? Either that or he thinks he can package Love/Jefferson + Rubio for something crazy like D-Wade. I don't see another reason for buying out exp. deals that nobody wants, and "goodwill" only gets you so far.
