I've read some of the trade ideas, and I must admit I'm not a big fan. What I think would be smart as a team would be to basically play this year (with no real shot at the playoffs) and figure out where you stand as a team (what kind of second year Love has... are you happy with Flynn at the one.. etc).

I think going forward Flynn and Sessions can hold down the point. I'd hold off on the trades and let the expirings expire. Assuming you don't get super lucky and score the first pick in the draft you should at least be able to walk away with a 2 guard like Willie Warren.

In free agency next summer I don't think you need to land a "big name" At the small forward position I like Ronnie Brewer and Travis Outlaw. I'd focus on those 2 at the start of free agency. Outlaw is unrestricted. To go with someone like Warren you could add Kelenna Azubuike (who will be unrestricted). Balkman will be unrestricted as well.

I'd turn to overseas to find a legit center. I'd look at three guys in particular (and sign up to 2 of them).

Bouroussis is the youngest and would be the expensive one. To get Javtokas Minnesota would need to send the Spurs a 2nd rounder.

I wouldn't be against moving Rubio in the right deal either. Brandan Wright and Andris Biedrins for Rubio, Wilkins, Sessions, and Gomes works. Might be something to do next spring when the Warriors are out of playoff contention.

The Wolves would need to send the Nuggets a 2nd rounder for Becirovic.

Either scenario would seem to make sense compared to trying and failing to get a big name and then overpaying for say Joe Johnson. Or making the trades I've seen suggested that aren't long term oriented.

Isn't Warren an undersized SG? Pass on both Buike and Outlaw, both can be black holes (more so Buike).
I would LOVE to get Ronnie Brewer and Biedrins on the team tho. What happened to our current Brewer?

I'd love Biedrins, but I can't imagine GSW parting with him for 2 point guards when they just used a lotto pick to get Stephen Curry, who is supposedly a point guard (I think he's got the tools to do it).

If we bring over a Euro big man next summer, I'd guess it's almost got to be Nikola Pekovic...unless Henk Norel explodes for whatever reason.

Warren has some very nice skills, but his size is definitely a concern. He seems like he could turn into Randy Foye part 2, which is fine depending on where you pick, but assuming it's say the 4th pick, I'd like to set my sights a bit higher. Somebody will emerge this season that nobody expected, it happens every year.

Pass on Warren, much prefer Evan Turner.

1st choice for me would be to consolidate and look for a huge splash via trade, I know we have no chance at LBJ or Wade, but disappointing seasons might make guys like CP3 or Melo available.

Faggariffic will be out there too.

I would like you to look up Nikola Pekovic. He is a better prospect then anyone you mentioned and we own his rights.

His size is a serious concern and most of us believe Turner would be the wise choice at the swingman spot. We plan to play a lot of smallball, but Turner has a unique skill set and would fit well at the 2/3.

Azubuike was a one hit wonder. See Moon, J. Personally I think Corey Brewer will perform very well and prove himself as a rotation player. I like Ronnie Brewer but I think a contributing Corey Brewer and Evan Turner would be similar for production and for less of the cost.

Not sure you would need Sessions in that deal. Wright has been a disappointment and Rubio would be huge in the bay area next to the small scorers Curry/Elles. I think if we are to move Rubio it will be before he can come over for maximum value and hopefully for 1 player that can be our #2 or #3 at a wing position.

I am not sold on the Joe Johnson idea. My hope has always to combine expiring assets with a euro+ draft pick and take a shot at a disgruntled wing player scorer.

Pekovic is on a team with deep pockets with an owner that is going to offer him a lot of money before he lets his prized big walk to the NBA. It also happened this summer in Greece with Bouroussis who was IMO very serious about the NBA.

I'm not 100% sold on any one guard. Just an early example assuming you don't get to pick numero uno.

Not trying to kill your dream but I doubt it. I'd call it a pipe dream. After Bernie Bickerstaff let Mutombo walk back in the day... if the Nuggets dumped Melo I think my head would explode.

I am aware of him and where he plays. In general I think you just ought to stock pile some talent regardless. But the Javtokas suggestion was on purpose. He's a different player than Pekovic, Love, and Jefferson. "The Shark" has been known for his 40 inch vertical and dunking on a 12 foot hoop long before Howard.
