Monta???

He wants to go. He is friends with Al from high school.

He does not want to play with Curry, I wonder if the same issue would happen with Flynn/Sessions. I do not think he has a size objection, I think he wants to play the SG as he did with Baron.

His contract is nasty. So maybe his price would not be bad. Kid is a legit scorer.

I thought he didn't want the Warriors to draft a ball handling guard because he wanted to play point?

I thought about him before too, but it financially locks us into a bunch of guys that can't check a SG or hit a 3

He wants to be the starting pg which we cannot offer, sucks at the 2, plus we have Sessions and Flynn now

I usually dont care about character problems with players to much.

But monta is one of the few nba players I'd avoid at all costs because of attitude problems.

It's not like it's just his attitude problems. He's an undersized SG who doesn't play defense well signed to a ridiculous and huge long term contract(5 years, 55 million remaining I believe). He also can't shoot the 3-ball. He thinks he's a PG, but isn't that special in terms of facilitating. This is all before you take into account his dumb moped incident and his terrible attitude and stupid comments. This is way too much to deal with for a guy who can score a few baskets and nothing else.

I mean, I'm not huge on the idea, but I'd be all over Kevin Martin waaay before Ellis if we're trading for a highly paid SG.

This.

Stay away from Ellis.

It's not like the Warriors need him anyway. If Anthony Randolph keeps improving at the rate that Warriors fans say, he'll be around 8'8' tall by the end of the year while averaging 162ppg, 25 rpg and 33 apg. GOAT

I thought Ellis' problem was the he doesn't want to cover SGs. He needs a guy like Hinrich to play next to.

His problem is he wants to be a PG on defense and a SG on offense. Its like the big guys that can handle the ball a bit and shoot, but they don't want to fight for boards and own the paint. If you're a big guy that can do the big guy stuff, then also pick up a guy on the perimeter every once in awhile and handle the ball a bit like KG, then it's an asset and a bonus. But if it's your base skillset, then you're just hard to build around.
Same w/ Monta, if he was a true PG with scoring abilities, then you have Chris Paul on your hands, but he's basically just a scorer and hasn't established himself as a real floor general. Frankly he's lucky to be playing for Nellie because 99% of the teams wouldn't give him the opportunities he's gonna get in Golden State.
