Small LAL - MEM

Post#1 » by shrink » Fri Oct 9, 2009 9:20 pm

LAL GETS: Damien Wilkins + OPec ($5.177)

MIN GETS: Adam Morrison + MEM 2nd (5.257)

Damian Wilkins is overlooked here. I don't know how much he has left, but he's an athletic guy, can play defense, and has started almost 100 games for SEA/OKC over the last 5 years. I don't think we'll play him, but he'd make good swingman depth for the Lakers, and it never hurts to have another 7-footer on your bench.

MIN gets Morrison who I expect nothing out of, and a MEM pick, that may be in the 31-40 range. Its not great compensation, but I just don't see any of these players being in our future plans regardless.

Memphis' 2nd round pick gets top billing in the thread title, eh?
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

I kind of feel like we need to hold onto Stewie. I know the general consensus is that we have good PF depth, but I'm not so sure that's true. Right now the first man off the bench at the 4, if OPec is gone, is Gomes or Cardinal. Not sure that's ideal... OPec might develop, and his outside shot can be a nice thing to have.

Particularly with Al coming off injury, I think we need to be careful about giving away our true big men.

i wouldn't mind taking a chance on Ammo, but giving up on one of 2 guys we have listed at 7ft is harsh.

Can Damien Wilkins still play? He might be a good fit. I think I would rather take a chance on Ammo's upside if neither are going to suit up anyways. I like it from the Wolves side, I think Ammo still has a chance at being a fringe roleplayer, good for maybe 5-6 points a game.

in 2k10 Wilkins is a beast. he can shoot, drive and dunk at will. he's the 3rd best Wolf IMO after Al and Kevin.

edit: not that it matters in the grand scheme of things though ;)
