Because I am bored, having watched the Wolves play some games in pre-season what is lacking from our team.

Our Pick

Cole Aldrich- I just really think this guy could be a great defensive centre in the NBA. A 3 man rotation of Jefferson/Love/Aldrich would be nasty on the boards.

Willie Warren- A scoring slasher who could work off of Rubio and FLynn very well. ONly problem is that with FLynn/Rubio/Sessions/Warren we would be very small in the backcourt.

Donatas Motiejunas- Just a special combination of talent and physical abilites, could be too good to pass up.

Charlottes Pick

Devin Ebanks- Has the potential to be a lockdown defender at that 3 spot. If brewer does not show improvement this year could Ebanks be the answer?

Malcom Lee- Brings much needed size to the backcourt as well as a defensive nasty streak that would work well with Rubio.

Patrick Patterson- Yes I know we allready have Love and Jefferson, yet still Patterson would be a great backup behind Love at the power forward spot and would be a great banger.

Utahs Pick

Kyle Singler- Dont really know too much about him, but my mate raves about him and thinks he will slide (and thus be the steal of the draft next year)

Tyshawn Taylor- At this point you want to draft BPA and Taylor shows alot of promise as a defensive 6th man at either guard spot.

Craig Brackens- Again, BPA will mean another big man to play behind the Jefferson/Love combination.

It's early to say, it seems like Evan Turner could go anywhere from 3-10 right now but I like him. I wouldn't pass on John Wall or Derrick Favors if we land a top 2 pick.

I like Solomon Alabi with the charlotte pick if he's there.

I'll cry if we draft Aldrich

Off the OP the only ones that I have any interest in are Aldrich and Donatas. The rest are under-sized SGs, PFs, or PGs.

My personal draft board goes something like this.

1. John Wall(duh)
2. Derrick Favors(BPA and trade value)
3. Evan Turner
4. Cole Aldrich
5. Donatas Motiejunas
6. John Henson
7. Jerome Jordan
8. Xavier Henry

I skipped over quite a few guys that I won't be too interested in due to position or not being available. I'm NOT saying Jordan and Henry are the 7th and 8th best guys in the draft,

I tried to keep my lists to players who will be around that part of the draft.

I would love Wall on the wolves but to be honest I dont think we will be bad enough to get ucky and have the #1 pick. I expect us to be drafting around the same spot as this year, somewhere from 4-7. Thus where Aldrich, Donatas and Warren will be

Agreed. Turner would be very nice for our team...he's my candidate no. 1 in terms of fit. We should really pursue him if he does well in college this season.

Completely agreed. I kind of commented on that when I moved Jordan and Henry up. They're obviously not contenders for a mid-lottery pick at this point, and likely won't ever be. They're more targets in the Char/Utah range.

I don't like Warren, though. At least not for the Wolves.

Warren would make us even more undersized

I'd like to see Turner show a bit more 3pt shooting prowess this season, seeing as how we have little to no 3pt shooting at the moment and he only attempted 25 shots from the college 3pt line last year.

Turner worries me alittle with how much he loves to dribble the ball. Having said that though, along with Aldrich, he is the most likely top ten talent to fit a need for us.

Sacramento, Memphis, Milwaukee, Utah (from NY), and New Jersey will be competing with us for the top pick, but in the end I think we will have the 4th worst record in the NBA (last season we were tied for 5th)

Nearly every bad lottery team has a decent center: Sacramento has Hawes, Memphis has Thabeet/Gasol, Milwaukee has Bogut, and New Jersey has Lopez. The only exception is OKC (who I think will go BPA) and Utah (who knows what's going on over there) which is why I think Aldrich will be available to take anyways.

I think Turner dribbles so much because nobody else on that team will.

I have a token scout crush on John Henson (*my last scout crushes were Rubio, Hibbert, Randolph--so maybe that is a sign). I think he could provide us with many of the same skills the Marvin Williams fanatics wanted. He does not have the 3 range yet, but he has nice mid range. He was a D2 SG prospect at 6'4 until he grew to 6'10. He has an intensity to defense and plays physical.

I do not see him being the primary scorer type, but I would love having Brewer, henson+scorer wing as a 2/3 rotation. (*trade for Martin as an example)

Turner dribbles alot because that's his job at OSU. Being good at it is an asset, not a flaw.

I could be completely off on this, but when I see Evan Turner, I see Brandon Roy. Not a perfect comparison, but that style of player.

Exactly, which is what I want, and what I saw in Brandon Roy, hence why I fell in love with him back then. And why I struggle with the desire of wiping out the Target Center as retribution.

Roy was alot more polished then turner though at the college level.

Roy spent all 4 years in college, Turner just 2, maybe 2 extra years have something to do with it, plus Roy's stats were nothing special until his senior year. and there's no way he had more polish as a sophomore than Turner.
