Rubio still isn't here, Love's out, and Sessions is coming off the bench. Oh, and the season hasn't started.

Well, I need something to take my mind off future frustration and watching future development isn't going to do much after I throw a brick at my screen. Hawkeye football + wrestling, that ought to get me through Kevin Love's injury during the winter months. I think the Hawks could have a shot at winning every game granted they stop sucking in the first half and relying on huge comebacks. At least with the Hawks an injury won't destroy a season.

I've been keeping an eye on my old alma mater as well. Its amazing to me that they can look so bad, but still be a bit better than whoever they have faced. I don't buy the ideas that good teams win ugly .. good teams win with ease, particularly in college football, where 55-7 scores abound.

The Big Ten is always tough to run, because they beat on each other each week, and nearly every team (save one) has a chance to beat any other team if enough damage has been done the previous week. I don't think they can win their next five, but I'll be watching.


Oh, and for something else to do, I thought I heard that the state of Minnesota has a team of professional footballers, though I don't watch them myself.

Start Cardinal, play him 48 minutes per game. He is a plus player every game, therefore the wins will pile up.

Knitting class is only 10:00-11:30 on Saturdays.

You've got to admit that the Hawks have a tough schedule on the road. And I'm just going to go out and say they are this years Cinderella team.

I got season tix to the Gophers BB team, hope it's worth it.

Agree with Shrink that the Big Ten seems like anyone can beat anyone on a particular day so running the table is tough. That said the wins against Michigan and Wisconsin have me feeling a bit more comfortable. I do think we play to the level of our competition as each year there's the UNI, Western Michigan, or whatever game that we inexplicably lose (though we won the UNI this time). On paper the road games look tough as MSU and OSU are tough draws. The home schedule looks like 3-0.

Of course we still don't run the ball effectively and Stanzi has moments where I see Favre of 10 years ago, brilliant followed by head scratching. I'm hoping for 12-0. Of course then we'll be in a BCS game with 7 weeks off again (see Brad Banks Hawkeyes vs. USC-not that they weren't better, but we were too rusty).
