Jefferson's achilles tendinitis?

Post#1 » by Wolves2011 » Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:20 am

From Jerry Zogda's collumn:

This isn’t good…

On the same night Kevin Love stayed in the locker room all game while his team played on without him…

Al Jefferson played fewer than 21 minutes — fewer than six in the second half, including none in the fourth quarter — because of what Kurt Rambis called tendinitis in his Achilles tendon.

Jefferson had 10 points (on 2 for 7 shooting) and four rebounds when he sat down after his Achilles was too sore for him to continue.

When asked how serious it might be, Rambis said, “I don’t know. We’re off tomorrow, he’ll get some treatment on it. It’s an irritation. Hopefully, it will calm down…Today was the first I heard of it.”

relax guys. a tendinites isn't THAT bad. yes Foye's sophomore year was cut short due to it but given the right treatment it could be gone within days.

now if we have the proper medical staff is another thing...

Didn't foye have microfacture surgery on his knee?

At the very least, it means that Jefferson minutes will be heavily regulated.

It probably also means it will be difficult for him to get into NBA game shape.

He has been running after practice to get into game shape.

That probably strained his achilles.

It also could make it more difficult for jefferson to jump.

If Jefferson is limited to say 25 or 30 minutes, and he can't jump as well, when we are already missing Love, our rebounding, which was a decided advantage now becomes a huge disadvantage.

I never saw a report saying Foye had a microfracture surgery. McCants had one though.

quite frankly I think Big Al came back too soon. yes I said and I still stand by my point that a tendinitis could be treated very easily but it goes to show you that Al came back too early. relax big fella, this season is already over basically. just get 100% healthy. we need you later on.

McCants had microsurgery, Foye had a stress fracture.

Minnesota should just toss this season to the lottery gods and go for the 25% chance of getting a sure thing franchise player at guard (not sure if he is going to be simply a PG in the NBA) in John Wall.

Wall+Rubio would be a great foundation to build upon.

With Love out, Jefferson not completely healthy, Rubio still overseas it is probably the best thing to do.
Still, I want to see them fighting for some W's. Don't wanna end up like the Kings and Clippers last season

Don't tell me Mark Blount will again see major playing time? Who else is there inside the paint for the Wolves!

I think indefinitely started in 1989.

Damn, sux for wolves fans and really the nba as a whole. They traded KG away in part for this guy, so disappointing.

Loooots of players have tendinitis. It's at least a teeny bit concerning cuz he's young...but Derrick Rose had tendinitis (I forget which part of the leg) and he's a-ok.

KG has had tendinitis in his knee for at least 5 years. I don't think it's a big deal, I just don't want it to get worse in such a down year. We're not that competitive without Love anyway, so I'd be all for bringing them both back at the same time.
