The Timberwolves and Target are teaming up to fill the Target Center stands with fans for the Wolves' first three home games.

Target is calling it the Home Court Advantage Promotion and the company purchased the tickets for an in-store giveaway.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, fans can visit guest services at any participating Target store for four complimentary tickets to a game.

The tickets are for the Oct. 28 game versus New Jersey Nets, which is the home opener. The second game is a Oct. 30 game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, with NBA star Lebron James coming to Minnesota. The third game is on Nov. 4 versus Boston Celtics, when former Wolves player, Kevin Garnett, will return.

All games start at 7 p.m.

Wow...I expected it for some team like the Bucks, not the Cavs and the Celts.

Pretty sure they could have bundled the 3 games together in some package. I think it just makes the team sound like a joke when you have to give tickets away. What's next, asking season ticket holders what time would be convenient for them to watch games?

Do they pay for my parking too?

I'll probably take advantage of this. Free tix is free tix.

I wish I 1. could drive, and 2. lived in the cities area. I have yet to go to a Wolves game, and I want to so bad.

Yup. Been to a couple Vikes games, about 6 or 7 Twins games, and no Wolves. In order off preference of what I would go to if given a choice its Wolves, Vikes, Twins, completely opposite from what I've gone to.

I'm going to talk to people on-campus about hopefully getting a bus to go to a game this year, probably one of the College Nights

Why is there no love for anyone more than 45 minutes North? Well, technically there is no love (as in kevin) for anyone right now, :(

You think if I call a participating store on the 24th and ask them about it, I can show up on the way there and get tickets in exchange for buying something?

Did anybody get tickets? I thought Target opened at 9 or 10, not 8. Every store I've called said they ran out in the first hour except there are some Nets game tickets available in cambridge. That's not the game I was looking for, so I'm staying home.
Does anyone know how many tickets each store had, and if you got some, where are the seats?

I'm asking because I'm going to the Cavs game anyway, but we're buying tickets at the door and I want to know what might be available. Thanks.

I planned on it too, but I called around and everybody was out. Are there really that many Wolves fans around? I wonder if you had to go ask for them or if they were just handing them out to anyone who walked into the store? You should have had to pass some type of test, showing at least basic knowledge of the current roster or something. I bet they gave them to a bunch of people who don't even know who Kurt Rambis is, or that he's our coach.

Sorry, I'm just a bitter basketball elitist, I guess. ;)
