Wolves Out:Al Jefferson, Rights to Ricky Rubio
Wolves In:Eduardo Najera, Rafer Alston, Brook Lopez
Reason for Wolves: Brook Lopez would be a perfect fit for this team. Jonny Flynn, Kevin Love, and Brook Lopez fit so well together. Our pick and roll and pick and pop has potential to be the best in the league. Brook Lopez also runs the floor well for the uptempo offense that we are going for. If I had to I would probably have even thrown in a pick and/or Pekovic to make this deal happen.
NJ Nets Out:Eduardo Najera, Rafer Alston, Brook Lopez
NJ Nets In:Al Jefferson, Rights to Ricky Rubio
Reason for Nets: With Big Al still needing time to recondition himself and knock the rust of himself they still get one of the best post scorers in the league to pair with Devin Harris and atract free agents. If they needed anymore reason to do this they get the rights to Ricky Rubio in a team that will be moving to Brooklyn soon. Once Rubio does come over they become one of the most marketable teams with not only Rubio but Yi as well. They lose some cap flexibility but they add talent to the Roster to atract big name free agents(Lebron).
Alternitavely to this Deal we could send Jonny Flynn instead. If anyone from NJ is looking at this Lebron does love Jonny Flynn.
Minnesota Lineup after
Flynn/Sessions/Alston
Brewer/Ellington
Gomes/Wilkins
Love/Najera
Lopez/Hollins
New Jersey Lineup(My Vision for the Future)
Rubio
Harris/Lee
Lebron/Williams
Yi
Jefferson

I like the idea of Lopez. I'm not necessarily even against Jefferson for him as it's been discussed either here or on other boards and there might be some interest in NJ.
That said this is way too much to give and way too little coming back with Lopez.

The thing I have issue with here is basically this trade is stating that Lopez > Jefferson + Rubio (still a very solid asset), so much so that negative extra year contract of Najera needs to be added. Also, it would give MN yet another PG type player in Alston for the year (expiring, so not a huge issue).
I would probably be a fan of something revolving around Lopez for Jefferson as Brook has impressed me that much and I think the fit would be amazing with Love, Flynn, and Brewer. I just don't think it could be done at this price and think MN has to considerable over pay in this trade. I would have to go with a no based on my valuation of the pieces.
Flynn, Brewer, (Something), Love, Lopez is a sexy lineup though. Defense and transition offense.... man, wow.

I like Lopez but no way is he worth Jefferson and Rubio.

I like Lopez a lot, but I don't like the value here at all. Najera is an "yuck" and Alston is a "meh" for me. If you changed Rubio's rights to Sessions and we got back Lee or (preferably) Williams instead of Najera, maybe it's closer, at least for me.

Don't get me wrong here, Big Al is the better player. I just feel the way he has played, him not being completely conditioned and healthy we have to give more in a trade that nets us a 7 foot + center with potential. I'm probably overvaluing Lopez, but I think for the Nets to trade him we have to overpay.
If I took out Najera and put it Hassel, would you do it then?
How about this?
Minnesota In: Brook Lopez, Simmons, Hassel, Sean Williams
Minnesota Out:Jefferson, Sessions, Wilkins, Jawai Utah 1st
NJ IN:Jefferson, Sessions, Wilkins, Jawai Utah 1st
NJ OUT:Brook Lopez, Simmons, Hassel, Sean Williams

If you make it Terrance Williams, it's a bit better.

Min In: Lopez, Williams, Simmons
Min Out:Jefferson, Sessions, Wilkins
NJ In: Jefferson, Sessions, Wilkins
NJ Out:Lopez, Williams, Simmons
Whats everyone think now? Any further compensation from either side?

I think they like Simmons, or am I thinking of a different player. I like it for MN and would jump on it, but I think MN is probably getting too much value now. Am sure I am far from helping, though I think the one with Jawai and Utah 1st is probably pretty much the best one. Just depends on the Simmons valuation I think. NJ may like him a bit more than we do.
Really like the idea from our stand point though, and it's tough since we all like Jefferson.

Nah, Simmons is just filler. I mean, I think value-wise this horribly isn't far off(although we're still overpaying a bit). Jefferson > Lopez, Sessions <= Terrance Williams. Of course, balance is worse for NJ now, so do they take it? At least it's better than the other trade proposal.

Jefferson is BETTER than Lopez, when healthy, not even close. I 100% don't include Rubio!!
I get back more from NJ than just Lopez for Jefferson. Maybe Lopez, Nets #1 pick, CDR and contract fodder for Jefferson is the LEAST I'd take!!

Yea it is hard for me to think of making these trades, because Big Al is great, but the pairing of Lopez and Love would cause so many matchup problems for teams that can't gaurd pick and roll and pick and pop. I'm not sure who the other player they like is, I could be wrong but I thaught they liked Dooling, thats why I have been trying to keep him out of my deals. I definately think the Nathan Jawai and Utah 1st was the best deal.
another variation with Terrence Williams included
Minnesota In:Brook Lopez, Terrence Williams, Tony Battie, Rafer Alston
Minnesota Out:Al Jefferson, Ramon Sessions, Nathan Jawai, Utah 1st
NJ In:Al Jefferson, Ramon Sessions, Nathan Jawai, Utah 1st
NY Out:Brook Lopez, Terrence Williams, Tony Battie, Rafer Alston

Yes I have stated that he is better, but the problem is he Isn't healthy.

Okay? But he'll get healthy. There's no point in trading Al for less value because he isn't healthy right now. If we trade him it will be when he's at the top of his game.

FWIW, Al Jefferson typically comes in between 10th-13th in trade value when they poll everyone at the trade board.
I believe Brook Lopez came in around 22.

Maybe we could swap the Utah pick with NJ pick (upgrade from ~18-20 to late lottery)?

Its not like we are getting pennies on the dollar here. We are getting a 21 year old 7 foot center, who plays good defense, is developing post game, runs on the break, passes well, and has great range on his shot. He may not be on the level of Al Jefferson right now, but he has the potential to be a lot better fit.
