Bynum is BYC this year so an extra team is needed to make the trade work.

MIN GETS: A.Bynum
LAL GETS: A.Jefferson + TE (Turkoglu)
ORL GETS: A.Morrison + LAL Pick + UTA Pick

or

MIN GETS: A.Bynum
LAL GETS: A.Jefferson + TE (Iverson trade)
DEN GETS: A.Morrison + LAL Pick + UTA Pick

Note: Either trade could feature Gomes going to Denver or Orlando with Morrison coming to Minnesota.

Why for Minnesota: Jefferson just doesn't seem to fit with the current (and presumably future) roster or Rambis' offensive system. Bynum, on the other hand, would fit both.

Why for LAL: They upgrade from Bynum to Jefferson while also saving a boatload of money. Their defense would suffer, but I think that the last playoffs showed that the combination of Odom and Gasol more than makes up for it.

Why for Orl/Den: They essentially buy two late first rounders for about 5 million a pop (they're both over the lux).

Thoughts?

Edit: For what it's worth, I don't think these deals are quite there value-wise for either Minnesota or ORL/DEN, but I'm not sure what LA could add to make it more worth while. Any suggestions would be aprreciated.

cuz he's had a few somewhat off games, the guy is coming off major injury. Big Al's going to be fine and is on a great contract. Keep him. End of story.

I like the Lopez idea better, if we HAVE to trade Al.

I don't think that he's done anything wrong. I just don't think that he fits the team as it's being constructed. He needs to be somewhere where ha a) has a big Power Forward or Center covering for him on D and B) somewhere with a lot of quality shooters around him. We have neither of those things here.

kobe always has ball in his hands...gasols 2nd option and also a PF, he'd be 3rd option, sometimes 4th behind artest.

Wouldn't make sense at all for Lakers, as they run triangle too, he's a worse fit for them than us.

Al for Lopez is a deal i'd VERY much consider.

I traded off Al in a very unlikely scenario, I love him still

No thanks. I'll take the better player AND keep our pick. I'd rather trade for Bierdrins than give away Jefferson.

I think that him being moved to the third option would be what makes him a better fit. As the first option here, he's being required to run the offense from the post. As the third option in LA he'd be allowed to catch and create in the post similar to what Bynum does now, only better. The biggest difference this trade would make would be to take the defensive presence that Bynum offers (which LA doesn't really need with Gasol and Odom) and add it to our team.

I can definitely see why LA wouldn't do this trade, though. After all, why mess with a winning formula. The way I see it, though, is that they'd be upgrading the overall talent level of their team for a relatively cheap amount.

Look above. And I also said that he isn't a great fit with our current roster (little defense and almost no shooting), which is the main reason to make a trade.

Funny you should mention this, because Phil is seriously considering retiring in the next couple of years (maybe even after this year).

Trading for Biedrins would require giving away Jefferson, though.

Give Jefferson and Love more time together. They've only played 50 odd games along side each other, and once they had settled next to each other last season our record started to improve. Obviously with Al's knee and Love's hand they will take more time to get comfortable together, but I think they've shown glimpses that they could work well as PF and C in the starting line-up.

exactly. This is just premature snapulation. Al is a very good player, a limited player, but a good player that will only be better when his responsibilities are eased with better teammates.

I wouldn't do this as a Lakers fan. I like it as a Wolves fan, Bynum is exactly the type of center that I would like to pair with Love.

I don't know how much better Jefferson is than Bynum, certainly not as much as some of you are making it seem. Put Bynum on the Wolves and run the offense through him and he puts up similar stats to Jefferson, I guarantee it. He puts up 14 and 10 on a contending Lakers team, and 20 and 10 when Pau Gasol is out of the line up.

Yea, but he is injuried constantly. I also think he scores most of his points because the attention is not on him. Decent kid.

We all know Al needs to improve his defense. Simple as that. I think the passing is not a big deal once Love returns, but Al needs to take the paint personal and make his priority the defense. perhaps not having to carry as much of the offense will make that plausable? Perhaps Bully Bill can help that mentality.

NO way, Al is a great player but his D isn't going to help our team.....Besides that you guys had your chance at Bynum & Odom but your dumbass GM had to keep his Laker hate and not deal with us.
