Was part of Big Al's poor play Grandma related?

He played much much better tonight, first game back after seeing his grandmother.

He talked about his grandmother in interviews and was close to her. Maybe saying goodbye helped him.

Really, what?

It's a hypothesis. Until he is interviewed and says that it helped him, we'll have to wait to see how he performs in future games.

But I knew we were not seeing the real Big Al in the first 9 games of the season. I thought it was injury related, but it could have been emotional also.

why?? I'm not insulting anyone, or saying something irrelevant. If it affected his play its relevant.

I certainly don't mean anything negative by saying it.

Jefferson and Love are my two favorite players on the team.

Why, lock it?

You post too much and this is not even something worth discussing.

then don't post in this string, but I for one, feel much better after seeing Jefferson's play tonight. If he keeps this up, I'll worry much less about his recovery from injury and I have an explanation for why he started the season so slowly.

Major reconstructive knee surgery a few months before the season started wasn't a good enough reason?

it's only acceptable to discuss "inspired" sports outings after one of brett favre's relatives dies.

I'm sorry Wolves2011, but I'm going to have to agree. Not every new thought needs to be made into a new thread. The topic of Big Al and his struggles have been well documented, as well as there being a thread on his leave of absence. Also, posting a thread like this so soon after her passing, while it might have been made in good intentions, just doesn't seem appropriate.

I am going to override you. This is a valid thought. many of us have lost a loved one that is dear to us and it does hurt your focus. You need your full focus to learn a new play, new teammates, and recover from the injury.

Valid point. I do not think wolves2011 meant anything disrespectful about Al or his Grandma. Rather the opposite. It is Jefferson's concern that distracted him, and now that she has passed he can move on.

Sure it's a valid point, but it's merely an observation. I don't see how this is worth discussing except to pay our respects to Al's grandma. If you're basing your assessment that it wasn't his knee that has been holding him back, but his emotions, well maybe there is something to it, but this game was against the Rockets front line, probably the smallest front line in the league.

RIP Grandma Jefferson.

You are daddy's cheap easy girlfriend that he rebounds with after the nasty divorce. I do not really like you much, but you put-out.

Do I think the thread is unnecessary, well we could have rephrased the original question by making it more broad, but I don't think we need to call 2011 out on it. It could be several reasons: triangle, new teammates, bad teammates, 2 prospects in Europe, no outside threat, grandma, injuries, crab people. I don't need to make a thread for each of those possibilities, but really who cares because threads have a life of like 2 days.

I'm going to stick with his injury as being the primary cause of mediocre play and a lack of shooters coming as a close second.

Threads like this do....others have insight that can lead to good knowledgeable discussion. No one knows the answer, and can only guess at why he was playing poor. I see why rev unlocked it, but I honestly think these are the types of threads that you see on the more chaotic forums like TOR, NYK, BOS, etc. And I just don't want to see a thread after the next game if Al struggles that says "Nope, his grandma has nothing to do with it. He just sucks."

I think more highly of our posters that I don't want our forum to fill up with threads like this...that is all. I'm sorry if this is bad for me having this opinion, but that is how I feel.

Why is everyone on the rag lately? Seems like any thread someone disagrees with they just make it personal. That makes it annoying to come to the board.

Who the fluck cares if this thread is valid or not. if you do not like it you do not have to read it. Get over it.
