viewtopic.php?f=2&t=964916&p=21500502#p21500502MIN Trades: Al Jefferson, Brian Cardinal
MIA Trades: Jermaine O'Neal
Wade gets a stud post player. Minnesota gets cap space, and lots of it.
Thoughts?

I already commented within the thread in question, but I'll reiterate. It's a f*cking embarrassment to have your own board's moderator go and pull something like this. It's not even a matter of opinion: Al Jefferson for expirings is cut and dry, and such a proposal represents a fundamental lack of common sense unbefitting a mod.
If you can't strip him of his modship for this, at least put it to a vote. This is inexcusable.

That's ridiculous. If you dump Al for cap space, you had better at least be getting some nice draft picks along with it (meaning high lotto). Who does Klomp think is going to sign here with that extra $$$? Total undervaluation of Al.

that deal is not even close to a fair deal
sure the wolves get tons of cap space, but consider Al Jefferson's potential and ceiling, are you sure you can use that capspace to lure someone with the same if not more talent than the Big Al to the freezing MINNESOTA?
i would never make that deal, our first priority is to keep Al and build around him, and we already found Love, Flynn, Rubio as a few useful piece. If we trade Al now, we go back to point zero of rebuilding mode, and we ended up trading Kevin Garnett for Jermain O'Neal version 2009-2010? NO WAY
>.<

Wow dude, take it easy. What does proposing a bad trade have to do with being a moderator? No need to crucify the guy here. sheeesh
Sure it would be a bad trade for us, but it's kind of refreshing to see a guy that doesn't drastically overrate their team's players like some other people do.

Give me your best argument for trading one of the best young post players, a player with a friendly contract, enjoys the city, plays very well with love on and off the court...for cap space. It is horrible in all plausible ways.
that being said, he is allowed his opinion as a mod and I was joking about the stripping of modship.

Horrifyingly bad trade proposal, now I know I've had my own, but at least I was drunk. I'm hoping he was too.

we can have like 18 mill in cap space anyways....it's not like we are hurting for cap space....makes NO sense whatsoever...

My understanding was that we would have a little less than a max contract to offer a player. I could be wrong. Where are you getting 18 mil from?

we opted out on pecherov, if we opt out on gomes or move him ( which we prob won't) + if bobcats keep their own 1st and we don't get it, it will be around 18.
But odds are likely it will be in the 13-15 mill range.
enough like you said to get a player a little under max. However if they really wanted to go after a max player, they have flexibility to be able to do so.

The trade Al talk bothers me but this... man.... come on. Its like Al Jefferson has turned into Kwame Brown over night or something.

Well lets just think of it like this, we already are going to have cap space, and we'll be damn lucky to sign someone with Jefferson's skill level/up-side. We already have such a player(Jefferson) why trade him so we can overpay someone else with less skill/up-side to come here?

You maybe shouldn't be joking. We shouldn't just arbitrarily make everyone with 10,000 posts a mod. Moderators' responsibilities require them to be the most level-headed, reasonable, intelligent posters as well. Clearly, Klomp is not.
Saying someone is entitled to their opinion doesn't even apply here. Al Jefferson could fetch more than expirings. That is undisputable. Either he lacks the basic NBA knowledge to know this, or he is lacking in basic reasoning skills. Either way, it means he shouldn't be a mod.

I'm new, but I say we give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was drunk, it happens. Am I right men?
