Lopez or Jefferson?

First question: Who would you rather have playing next to Love? Lopez or Jefferson? taking everything into account: contract situation, health.
Second question is hypotetical, only for those who would take Lopez: on draft day Wolves have pick#1(Wall), Favors goes second to Utah, Nets are third, Turner comes back 100% healthy, would you trade Wall & Jefferson for Lopez & Turner? Do you go forward with Wall, XXX, XXX, Love, Al or Flynn, Turner, XXX, Love, Lopez?
Myself, I would take Lopez & Turner because I'm a big fan of both, actually wanted Lopez over Mayo and Love, and I think Tuner and Lopez will allow Rambis run his offense better compared to Wall and Big Al, plus having a big center will help the defense. Plus having Flynn and Rubio helps to tip the scale for me.

When you consider the garbage salaries we'd have to take back in a Turner/Lopez for Jefferson/Wall trade, it's harder to swallow.
I'd rather have Lopez than Jefferson when you consider age, health, contract, skillset, size...
The difference in contract alone puts us in a situation where we easily have max cap space, and then some. No chance the Nets do that, though.
C - Lopez/Hollins
PF - Love/Pekovic
SF - Brewer/Henry
SG - Turner/Ellington
PG - Flynn/Sessions/(RUBIO)
Kind of a sexy team.
Ok, having said all that, looking at potential trades at the deadline...
Nets give: Lopez, Jianlian, Najera, Hassell, and Dooling
Wolves give: Jefferson, Gomes, Pavolvic, Jawai, and Hart
Nets do it to because we got them drunk and have photos of them and farm animals.
Wolves do it for a better fit and more cap space in 2011.

Dude, the trade is draft day, Nets will have the capspace to absorb Jefferson's money, so no Jianlian, Najera, Hassell, and Dooling coming here.

As far as a fit for this team.
I would do a Lopez for Jefferson swap. Even though I'd hate to have to look at Lopez for 82 games a year and watch him wineeeeeee.

Dude, draft day is before July 1st, so 2009 financials are still used, thus no cap space for Nets.
Now if you wait until July 1st to make the trade, then your idea is at least possible. But on draft day, nope, can't happen.
Having said that, what do you think the Nets would rather have?
LeBron and Big Al? Or Lopez, LeBron, and Bosh? (Just an example, but Jefferson keeps them from getting a second established superstar, and I think they'd rather do that than rolling on a rookie that plays the same position as their best player, Devin Harris.) Assuming they can clear just a little more salary, which I think cutting Najera and Dooling's unguaranteed contracts makes it possible. Especially if the cap doesn't drop too far.
C - Lopez
PF - Bosh
SF - James
SG - Turner
PG - Harris
Oh $#!+.....

I think you're wrong on financials, new season salaries kick in right after the season ends, so on draft day new salary applies, and don't act like John Wall is some kind of Johny Flynn and LBJ and Bosh already agreed to come to New Jersey.

New season doesn't start until July 1st. Sorry.

And as far as Bosh/LeBron to New Jersey...
1. Pretty sure the Nets would rather take that chance.
2. By time the trade you're proposing would be legal, July 1st, the Nets could be talking to players and would have a pretty good idea if they could sign both.
3. If the Nets are in line to sign two max free agents, they're not going to screw that up, just to upgrade from Turner to Wall. Especially when they already have Devin Harris at the point, and he's more than enough to pair with two max guys.
To clarify, teams can start trading again once their season is officially over, but the next year's numbers don't come into play until July 1st. Contracts that expire after this season, though, can't be traded after the February deadline, unless they're in a sign and trade post-July 1st.
EDIT: Evidence on common sense, fact, and something that's been stated around here a billion times? Sure, let me go find it. Any evidence on your side? Didn't think so.

john2jer is correct about July 1.

To clarify, free agents can begin talking on July 1st, and teams can discuss trades at that time, but nothing becomes official until after July 7th, when that year's salary cap has been set.

ok, big deal, the trade can be agreed upon on draft day and finalised on July 1th, and having Harris is a lame excuse to pass on opportunity to get Wall, as for Lebron-Bosh, there's a saying about a bird in hand.

So NJ has Lopez, Turner, and Harris and they trade Lopez and Turner for Wall and Jefferson?
J2J is right, this does not make any sense for NJ.
If they can't get Bosh and Favors is gone, maybe they'll do a Jefferson for their pick + Williams + expirings (or cap space whenever it happens) trade, but I wouldn't want to necessarily do that. Here's what that would look like --
Nyets --
Harris
CDR/Lee
Lebron
Jefferson
Lopez
Wolves --
Flynn/Rubes
Turner?
Williams
Love
Aldrich?

If we get a chance at Wall you have to keep him
Maybe Jefferson Flynn and Utahs pick or Bobcats pick for Lopez and Turner?
Wall/Sessions
Turner/Ellington
Gay/Brewer
Love/Monroe (charlotte or utuah pick)
Lopez/Pekovic
Harris/Flynn
Lee/CDR
Williams/Hassel
Bosh/Jianlian
Jefferson/Boon

As a 7 foot, defensive Center, Lopez is obviously the better fit next to Jefferson, but if it meant downgrading in the draft from Wall to Turner (and I say this as a fan of Turner), I wouldn't even consider that trade.
If we do end up with the first overall pick, we'd be better of looking to package Jefferson and the Charlotte pick for a stud wing and Cole Aldrich (who may even be a better fit than Lopez).
Something like:
SAC GETS: Jefferson
PHI GETS: Kevin Martin + SAC 1st + CHA first
MIN GETS: Iguodala + PHI 1st (top 5 right now)

Yes please. The Kings might be a bit reluctant though, they've got a logjam of talls and Thompson and Hawes are a big part of their future.

I don't mind this line of thinking. I would be perfectly fine with it. The main point is that if we somehow win the lottery and get Wall, we DON'T TRADE HIM.
If NJ wants another PG, trade them Rubio for Turner.
We can definitely build around Jefferson, Love, and Wall. Keep Flynn(or Sessions) as 6th man then do one or several of the following:
1. Trade up in the draft for Turner/Wesley Johnson/Aldrich
2. Sign/S&T for Joe Johnson/Rudy Gay and sign Brendan Haywood or other defensive/rebounding big
3. Trade for established wing under contract such as Martin(meh) although preferably someone like Iggy or Wallace.
Using Rubio, Sessions/Flynn, Gomes, Utah pick, Charlotte pick, and cap space, we should be able to get 2 wings and a legit center.

Could we possibly do all 3 of those options? that would give us:
Wall / Flynn
Joe Johnson / Turner
Iggy / Turner
Love / Aldrich
Jefferson / Haywood

no friggin' way.

Why do we need all this talk.
We've already got Jawai
