http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... _shoot_3s/It's funny how Love pretended to forget Wittman's name. Thank goodness Rambis is letting him shoot outside shots because he's probably the best we have at that. I really don't see why Wittman didn't let him shoot though. I think he needs that to be effective in this league. He obviously isn't some kind of beast low-post scorer and I don't think he ever will be. Any other thoughts?

well its about par with what i'd expect. Whitt is an oldschool Bobby Knight prodigy, he'd do much better in college where the "my way or the highway" theory can work. Make Foye be a PG, let Shad have free reign of the offense like only Kobe/Jordan have, make sure love stays 3-5ft from the basket... yeah, thats recipe for success.

Wittman shouldn't train a group of 1st graders.
Not to mention a professional basketball team.

Wow, that bold ... and if Rambis is fired ... Goes Love to delay Rambis's critique during six months, too?

I don't know how this makes me feel about Love.
Should I like him for quietly accepting his role last year, which he disagreed with?
Or should I dislike him now for throwing a guy under the bus who isn't around, and disrespecting him with the "I forget his name" stuff?
At least he's saying these things in person, and not on Twitter.

Wittman sucks, and Love appears to know what hes talking about a little since he is doing well shooting 3's, pretty sad when your player is smarter than your head coach, but then again Wittman is garbage

Wittman was losing ALOT and did not have the willingness to adjust and amend issues ... still, I don't see the point in Love taking a jab like that.
Did Love shoot more 3's when McHale took over?

Good for Love....
It's nice to hear...from a fans view at least...that Wittless was exactly who we thought he was....not a good head coach, at all. I think it's a lot more appropriate taking a shot now rather when he was a rook. You always see people take there terrible coaches side for some reason, Casey and Wittman are only good assistant coaches, that's it. Love is just affirming that...which only puts a smile on my face.

Wittman is a good assistant coach in the NBA, and a potentially good college coach, but a horrible NBA head coach.
Props to Love for accepting and doing his role last year, even though he didn't agree with it. Kind of tough that he threw Randy under the bus now, but at the same time, *SHRUG*, who cares. He's not saying anything that we didn't already know.
I love that Rambis, or his system, is allowing Love to showcase all of his talents. I've always thought of Gomes as the Lamar Odom type, but is Kevlar more of the Odom player on our team? A stretch 4 with good passing abilities? He can't put it on the floor like Odom can, but he can definitely cause problems with being comfortable on the perimeter. Of course that means we need to find 2 more guys, at least, better than Kevlar to be a legit contender. Scary.

we are still a scorer and a couple guys who can commit to defense away from being decent, regardless of who is coaching, so for now, we need to have someone who the guy are at least comfortable with. it seems everyone hated Witt for his refusal to adapt to anything.

After re-reading the whole article I think Love was actually trying not to throw Wittman under the bus. His "I don't remember his name" and "no comment" was were probably intended to be funny but also to not flame too much. I also don't blame a player for answering a question that was asked to him. If someone asks him why he's shooting more threes this year, what's he supposed to do, lie?

Interesting comparison! All we need now is our Kobe

It seems a little low to publicly take a shot at your ocach like that but from what I have heard about Love from when he was in college this isn't too out of character. Supposedly he was a kind of a douche. Either way that's interesting. From day one I didn't like Wittman at all. He seemed to only blame the players for everything and acted too much like a victim for my liking. When he first came on he had a way better team then we have now and they were almost playing just as bad. He also managed to make the team worse than it was under Dwane Casey, what was the point of making him coach if he wasn't even able to do better than the guy before him?

If you've watched Howland's "coaching" at UCLA over the past two seasons, it is hard to find fault with negative comments by Jrue Holiday or Kevin Love about the system being run over there.
Last year's Bruins team was as criminal a waste of talent as I've ever seen. The "offense" consisted of Darren Collison dribbling down the shot clock and throwing up a prayer, or maybe panicking and throwing it to Josh Shipp for a prayer. That was it. For entire games at a time.
Somehow, Howland saw fit to completely completely freeze out an all-around talent like Jrue Holiday, but would let a douchebag chucker like Shipp fire away without discretion.
Hard to believe Howland could make three final fours and then completely drop off a cliff, but man they are even more pathetic this season and have an abundance of talent...

Well considering Collison and Shipp each shot over 50% from the field and about 40% from three I would say they did a pretty good job throwing up prayers.
Collison was clearly better than Holiday last year and their difference in ability to run a team this year clearly shows that. Problem was, Holiday and Collison played the same position. Holiday doesn't excel playing off the ball and so while he played them together at times, it was clearly in the teams best interest to play Collison over Holiday.

I think we see the reason why Wittman wasn't letting him shoot 3's. Mark Madsen was the only player that should have been shooting them, considering the situation that we were in.

Those comments from Love are a little red flag to me. Nothing to make of them yet, but could be an indicator of a developing attitude problem. Hopefully it turns into nothing.

It's nothing. If Love has shown anything, it's that he's confident in himself and that he's a bit outspoken. Perhaps that's a sin here in Minnesota, but I see nothing wrong with that.
