Possible Targets

Ok,
So I don't post very often but I was looking through some of the Minny trades in the trades and transactions forum and wanted to get some opinions on what realistic prospects we might be able to trade for/sign.
Rudy Gay
I think we can start by putting Rudy Gay at the top of our list, lots of discussions about bringing him here, but of course there is the salary match issue if we wait until the end of the season

Thaddeus Young
In my opinion Young would be a great fit for us. He's pretty versatile could play the 2-4 position, scores 15-21 points a game, but upgraded to a #2 scoring option he could be consistently score in the 20's. He's still young, 20-21 and comes with a fairly inexpensive rookie contract. the problem comes with acquiring him with out giving up Love/Jefferson/Flynn. Is it possible to get him for a combo of Utah's pick, Brewer/Sessions? either way, he fits the young guy "run with us' mold the wolves are working with.

I like Rudy Gay and Young

But...I think we should (assuming we have a top 3 pick) take Evan Turner

Evan Turner is going to be just as good as either of those players plus you have him in a three year deal with a team option on the 4th.

Same player....less money.

even though it might seem unrealistic, i honestly think we should target LeBron and Co. yea our record is absolutely terrible, but the Cavaliers would be absolutely terrible without LeBron. We have the best offensive big man in the game, a young stud PF (also known as wilt chamberlain), tons of tradeable assets and lots of money. if we draft wall (or turner), this team is looking pretty promising.

We need a starting SG and a SF. Right now we have neither.

I agree with you.

My line of thinking is that you can get Turner with our 1st pick (I am guessing top 3) - you make him a starter at the 2 or the 3. (he has shown he can handle the ball this year.

Then you use the large amount of money we have to make a run at a star like Joe Johnson, or even Gay.
If I was in charge I would go after Travis Outlaw he fits our running style well.

The Draft in July is a long ways off but with that said I want Wall in this years draft...i.e. the best player available. isn't Evan Turner hurt too? not sure he'll even come out with that type of injury or warrant a top 3 pick. I'm thinking more on the lines of something we can do this season. while i think Lebron is the apex of free agents, i don't see him moving. i think we'll have the most value at the trade deadline with our expiring's.
What are your thoughts on the following guys that "could" be available at the trade deadline
Josh Howard - not crazy about him but he is a great 3
Chris Bosh - doesn't fit all that good, but he's likely shopped before he leaves toronto for free
Tracy McGrady - the one guy we could probably get with just expirings, he's injury prone and old, but he can score and would fit well as a #2 option to Jefferson
Travis Outlaw - haven't seen much of him, but he's been a MN target rumor before
David West - likely to be shopped given the N.O. financial situation
Jamison/Butler - one of these guys could be gone if the Wiz continue to struggle
Michael Beasely - the Derrick Colman clone could be moved in an effort to keep Wade happy
Lou Deng - a 3 with a big contract

anyone else we could add?

We have never won the lottery so I doubt we will be in a position to get Wall.

Turner is a top 3 talent and would be a perfect fit for this Wolves squad. His injury is somewhat serious as he is supposed to miss 6 to 8 weeks. However word around the campfire is he should be back in 4 to 5 weeks. If anything the injury will cause Turner to go pro rather than stick around for his senior year....however OSU will be loaded next year so he might just stay to make a run at a title.

Your list
Howard ----nope. Cuban likes him unless he can get something really good for him he will bring him back
Bosh - Terrible fit unless we get rid of Al or Love - which would be a lateral move
McGrady - his time was 4 years ago signing him would be a waste of resources
Outlaw - This is my choice to go after - athletic defender who can shoot the three
West - Al Jefferson part 2....another lateral move unless you can get him cheap
Jamison/Butler ---- I wouldn't mind either of these guys, I just think the price might be a little on the steep side for what the return would be. The only way is with a third team.
Beasley - This might be a good option. I just don't see him as lasting long in the league. (not sure why...just a feeling)
Deng ----way over priced for what he is.

You forgot Gerald Wallace. I'm not sure if the Bobcats want to move him because they are in the running for the 8th seed out East, but I really like Gerald Wallace and he's probably the only injury prone guy I would consider at this point.

I think I am the only one who does not want Gay on this team.

He's an unbelievable talent, but I really question his maturity, and whether or not he is a championship type player.

Eh, I don't really like pairing Turner and Wallace. Not enough outside shooting.

If MN does a deadline deal. Then we should look to aquire a SF and Salmons.

We blow our cap we might as well use the rest to get another legit starter.

Al
Love
Gay
Salmons
Flynn

Im sure tomorrow will involve Gay Love and the Lopez twins. Never in history has a comma been so necessary.

Kudos to the TS's name.

It won't get old if as long as you can keep adding names to it:

Gay, Mayo, Love, Sessions
Landry, Love, Sessions
Gay, Darko, Love, Sessions
Felt on, Gay, Love, Sessions
Jack, Harden, Gay, Love, Sessions
Miller/Foster/Boozer Love Sessions
Gay, Fisher, Love, Sessions
Gay, Duncan, Love, Sessions
Blount Love Sessions (sounds painful)
Gooden Gay Love

The possibilities are endless....
