Shaun Livingston?

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Tue Dec 22, 2009 11:50 pm

He was just released by the Thunder due to the Maynor trade.

If possible, I'd like to see his passing ability in the triangle and move drop Sasha or Jawaii.

Flynn and Sessions already don't get enough minutes. Where would he play?

He'd be a point forward. No different then if we were to draft Turner.

Maynor to OKC in a salary dump. interesting. Jazz save a bundle in lux penalties. if that trade was on the TB yesterday I don't think it would have went well.

not that interested in Mr. Livingston.

I read Utah saves 23 million. They must be pretty ecstatic.

I think I'd be happy with Wilks as an upgrade over Hart....

FYI - Hart went to 'Cuse like Flynn so I think that may be part of the reason we signed him.

I don't think they save quite 23m. I think harpings contract didn't count against cap because of injury exception. I'm not sure if they ever looked into this.

Regardless, his contract is insured. I'd assume 80%? So OKC gets maynor for 2m or so?

I realize that, but Hart went there like 10 years ago, so I don't get how that makes a difference.

Man, kid can't catch a break. He didn't seem very eager at all to come to Minnesota before. I'm not sure how different his opinion is now. He is running out of options.

Maybe, if he can play small forward. But he got cut from Oklahoma because he wasn't playing well.

it's like when you graduate from college, get a new job & finding out one of your coworkers is also an alum of your school. it can make a huge difference.

I have a hard time believing he'd be any worse on offense than Corey Brewer if given the Corey Brewer roll.

Agreed. Just another demonstration of the value of cap space, especially since Harpring's deal was 80% insured. I'm glad we'll have some cap space next season.

BTW, I said this Friday:

shrink wrote: It doesn't make sense to keep Harping's insured contract if you still have to pay lux tax on every bit of it. It has more value to another team under the lux, if UTA can include it's value in a package that includes some significant 2009 TPE.

Is Wilks even an upgrade over Hart? Even if he is, I don't think he'd play either.

Livingston has been cut twice since his comeback. I don't think he has anything left.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
