A regular starter for the Hornets this season, Brown is currently averaging 10.0 points per game while shooting a career-best 41.1 percent from behind the arc. Brown matched his career high with 25 points in a game at the L.A. Clippers on Nov. 9, and hit a career-best six three-pointers in the Hornets' loss to Chicago last Saturday.

Brown initially entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the San Antonio Spurs in 2002 and is now in his eighth season in the league. The product of the University of Texas¬–San Antonio owns career averages of 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game during stints with San Antonio, Denver, Utah, New Orleans and Cleveland.

A doable trade. Gives us more wing production. Nice find.

Can someone explain to me why the Hornets did this? They are both expiring and roughly have the same salary. Brown is obviously the better player. I don't get it.

One more thing, New Orleans... YOU'VE BEEN KAHNED!

Is this official? Zgoda is reporting that it is being held up.

Hart's deal is not guaranteed, while Brown's is. So essentially, the Hornets will waive Hart and save some money.

I wonder how much PT Brown will get? Does he just get Sasha's minutes? What about Wayne?

salary relief. Hart makes less than Brown, and with partial guarantee he can be cut.

When the Hornets cut Hart, they'll be only $2.2 mil before they are under the lux. If they can get under, they'll save about $6.8 mil.

Time to hit the spreadsheets!

Despite discussions, one league source close to talks says deal "probably not" happening between Hornets and Wolves for Devin Brown.

What could've gone wrong? Hornets backed out in the last minute? or Kahn is asking for more?

That's a steal for the Wolves. Trade a guy who's not playing for a semi-decent SG who can get some burn for us. Doesn't affect 2010. Just means Trasha doesn't play anymore.

The Wolves are working on a deal with New Orleans that would send Jason Hart's non-guaranteed contract to New Orleans for guard Devin Brown.

Hart did not accompany the team to San Antonio on Monday. The deal looked like it was either dead or snagged this morning, but Wolves boss David Kahn said it was neither. That may not be the end of it, though. Kahn said there's "more than one way" to do the deal and said other teams are involved.

When I texted and asked if the Wolves will end up with Brown or something else, he answered, "Not sure yet."

Hornets would do the deal to save themselves money on the luxury tax and would likely cut Hart because he has a non-guaranteed contract.

"Other teams involved" could mean that Bobby Brown's salary was included, but needed to go to a third team since he can't come back here within the NBA year.

hmm...hopefully it'll go through. Brown is a decent bench player and certainly better than Trasha Pavlob!tch and Jason Hart.

True. Brown doesn't exactly excite me, but if this means I never have to see Sasha further embarrass the game of the basketball, I'm all for it.

I like me some 3-way action. Hope more teams are involved.
