The Emergency Third PG

Post#1 » by Klomp » Thu Dec 31, 2009 5:55 pm

The Wolves do have an emergency backup plan, Kahn joked: "I told [assistant coach] Darrick Martin he needs to lose a few pounds now."

Said Rambis, "He'd need to lose more than a few."

As long as I'm only needed on throwback night, I'm available to be the emergency point guard. At least up until they retire Garnett's #21, and they don't check IDs when you check into the game.

Let's sign Jason Hart to another non guaranteed contract.

Edit: apparently that's against the rules, at least for 30 days.

I mentioned last month that I don't see the need to carry one for emergency reasons. Both Sessions and Flynn are young, and could handle a game for 40+ minutes for minor reasons. If they can't? Will the third PG really have a longterm effect on this franchise. Meanwhile we give Sessions and Flynn all the minutes we can.

If one of the two PG's faced a long injury, I think that'd cause us to pick up a PG. We only need to last 30 days before we could just get Hart again for 10 minutes of back-up, and he knows the system. Meanwhile, keep our fingers crossed.

Woodside's in France.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

normally I'd say **** the French and their contracts, but that damn Statue of Liberty...why'd we ever accept that from them anyways, that little "gift" has been holding us back from steamrolling their sorry asses with a convoy of A1 Abrams for decades now. Devious frogs I'm telling you.

sadly T-Hud would be a nice fit. Dude can put the ball in the bucket in bunches and he's a "vet" Adding Woodside is my dream, but adding a rookie to the team probably isn't great for the short term.

Brevin Knight and Livingston would be good options with minimal downside.

probably though we can just roll with what we got, then if somebody gets injured Ellington can be the 3rd PG for the rest of the game, if the injury is gonna take awhile for Sessions for Flynn to heal, then we can sign somebody at that point

We would want someone that does not need/want minutes. If the team cared about winning games this would be more of an issue, but right now it really does not matter. If someone goes down with an injury we can make a move. otherwise who cares.

Questions:

Do we have to wait 30 days to sign anyone to another non-guaranteed contract or just Hart?
Could we just immediately sign someone, non-guaranteed and look to make another similar move?
Where can I find the rules regarding non-guaranteed contracts?

Could Ellington handle 3rd PG duty? Just bring up the ball and make the first pass?

When will another team be Kahned? You know its coming. I can't wait.

Happy New Year's Eve!

Unless someone gets hurt I would say no. If someone does get hurt we can survive for 1 game and then sign someone the next day to a 10 day contract or an unguaranteed deal.

hart is the only one we have to wait 30 days for.

I want to see corey brewer run the point for comedy value.
