Kahn offered Al for Granger (post Al trade ideas here)

Minnesota Timberwolves general manager David Kahn recently offered forward Al Jefferson(notes) to the Indiana Pacers for forward Danny Granger(notes), but was immediately rebuffed, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
While Pacers president Larry Bird remains determined to build around Granger, sources say Kahn has become increasingly dubious on making Jefferson a cornerstone for the Timberwolves.
So far, Kahn has tried to undo almost everything from the Kevin McHale regime, and trading Jefferson would be another significant step in that direction.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-jeffersongranger011010&prov=yhoo&type=lgnsMinnesota also has chemistry issues between Jefferson and forward Kevin Love(notes). “There’s some jealous stuff that’s playing out,” one league source said.
It would seem that Al feels as jealous as Kingly about fans liking Love more.

that sucks. if we have to move Al, I would prefer we at do it in the offseason for a top five pick.
I'm kinda glad this didn't go through, I have a bad vibe on Granger, I could see him playing at a high level for perhaps another four years, just long enough to secure another big contract and then all of a sudden the wheels fall off the cart. Not based in fact, just a hunch. Maybe Al will have similar problems I don't know. All I do know is that right now the thought of trading Big Al bums me out.

what a bummer. not that he tried to trade for Granger as Granger would be a great fit here if he was 100% healthy but the chemistry issues are what concerns me. let's just hope it won't get too much publicity as it would decrease Al's value.

so what your saying is that Shrink should avoid posting this on the GB.

I'm skeptical of this; at least the "jealousy issues" part. If it's accurate, at least it shows Kahn is working on addressing our needs.

I heard that we are fielding calls, not making calls or offers and that this rumor is simply not true.
If we move Al it is going to be for a wing, but someone on a smaller contract so we can add greater flexibility. Someone in the 5mil range or so. We have specific teams we are scouting, but indy is not one of them.

I would be pretty shocked if this was true considering what Kahn said in his 2 recent interviews.

Hopefully Kahn will comment on this rumor, cuz it seemed like he commented right away after PA said that thing about Al. I don't expect it, but it wouldn't surprise me if the team addresses this directly in some way.
I don't know Al personally, but he seems to be capable of being jealous. Although this doesn't really fit with his actions of taking a smaller contract before. He showed a lot of humility in that move and this rumor makes him seem like a 5 year old so I dunno if that is consistent.

Al must wait until Rubio arrives to Minnesota. Then Rubio will be the most prefered player and his problem with Love will dissapear.

So a guy like Thad Young?

My thinking is that either we called them about Granger's value and they said it would take Jefferson or they called us about Jefferson and we said it would take Granger. It just wouldnt make sense to offer Jefferson right now.

Yeah I can't see any jealousy issues on Al's part. The guy has put the franchise first at every step, particularily with his contract. However I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually Love that was jealous, for whatever reason. As much as I love his play on the court in every interview I've seen him in he comes off as a bit of a douche.

That is probably something that is now adding to his frustration (coming back from injury/losing). Taking a smaller contract should make him more of a fan favorite.

But what would Love be jealous of? He gets plenty of shots due to his offensive rebounds and also gets some jumpshots through the offense. He seems to have alot of freedom out there.

Just doing a quick look through salaries, I don't see much in the way of fit. I'm assuming it would be a young wing and expirings/picks. Ariza fits but Houston doesn't really have the expirings to top it off. Mayo fits. Durant (yeah, right) or Harden fit. Webster or Outlaw? Not really seeing much else.

Yeah I don't really know. I don't see why either would be jealous, I was just saying that if I had to pick either based on what I've seen personality-wise from them I'd probably be looking at Love. Although it still makes about as much sense as a flying pig.

I think J.R. Smith would be a good guy to trade for. I dunno how Denver can make it worth our while to include Al. I'd give up Al and something else for JR and Nene.

Smith's knuckleheadedness (shrug, I made it up) worries me.
