Minny-PHX

As we all know. Kahn has stated multiple times that he won't trade his core. But it is also true that we'd have to explore and think about any deal offered to us at this point in time. What if the Suns are worried about not being able to sign Amare, but they don't want to piss Nash off.

This trade comes to mind:

Kevin Love
Brian Carinal
Mark Blount
Ryan Hollins
for
Amare (w/ a contract extension)
Brook Lopez
Earl Clark

In this deal you keep Minny's HUGE edge in post play, rebounds. Add a VERY nice center, who is developing extremely fast. Get a flier(or maybe we wanted him anyways?) on a prospect at a position we need.

TWolves roster:
Flynn/Sessions/(Rubio)
Brewer/someone good/Ellington
Clark/someone good/Notgomes
Jefferson/Lopez
Amare/Lopez

-------------------------------------------------------------------

You can sell it to Nash as working for next year w/o any worries about Free Agents leaving. Plus this move allows for Nash and Love to get to know each other before it really counts in 2010-11.

PHX roster:
Nash/Dragic
Richardson/Barbosa
HIll/Dudley
Love/Cardinal/Amundson
Frye/Hollins

Then the Suns have a draft pick and prolly a pretty nice free agent with all that extra cash this deal saves them to add and fill out the roster. Shrink would you maybe find out how much money this would save the Suns (I spose it won't look like it's saving them money because Amare is a 0 for next year, but I think we all get the point).

I think Love is less of a flawed player than Amare, for any Suns fans who think this trade is homer-style. Amare and Jefferson would be so sick I don't care about their flaws.

I guess a few things...

Amare would have to agree to an extension to play here -- he definitely won't do that, common sense says he'd much rather just reup with Phx in that case

Amare is not going to be worth the max, but he'll probably get it --- injuries, defense, not a C, and Nash inflated efficiency %'s

With an extended Amare, Phx is not going to throw in their only two promising young players in Robin (been playing well as a starter) and Clark (very likely to be a bust, but still a rookie)

Even with all the headaches mentioned, you can't argue with that lineup. Paying Amare the max would be a great usage of our cap space. Draft Turner, wait on Rubio. (Ricky-Amare would be fantastic.)

2011 roster
Rubio, Flynn
Turner, Fernandez, Ellington
Clark, Brewer
Jefferson, Pekovic
Amare, Aldrich, Lopez

Definitely doable.

How would you plan on getting Turner and Aldrich? Plus, we wouldn't need Aldrich w/ Lopez, that's the whole point.

We are talking about Robin Lopez, not Brook, right?

I think it's reasonable to assume Aldrich will be get-able with either the 'cats pick or by combining it with the Jazzes.

I think Amare has openly stated that he'd only leave Phoenix for a larger market. I don't know if there's any truth to that, but it pretty much rules the Wolves out as being legit competitors for his services. The trade seems pretty iffy from a value perspective, though. I'm not sure why the Suns would do this.

Earl Clark seems a lot like Brewer as a rookie. I think he's got some potential.

Don't think the Suns would do this deal even with the risk of losing Amare.

I don't wanna trade Love, let alone trading him for Amare...
Robin Lopez has been looking less like a piece of **** lately though..
