Minnesota interested in Amare

Post#1 » by MarJJMar » Mon Jan 25, 2010 4:51 am

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/ar ... de-CR.html

Can't really imagine him re-signing in Minnesota however unless he was extended already.

I also can't imagine Phoenix being interested in Jefferson, so if the Jefferson rumors are true Jefferson might go somewhere for wing help and Minnesota wants Amare to replace that void then. I guess Love and Amare would compliment each other pretty well.

Blount,Cardinal, Rubio and your 2 mid first round picks would be my expectation, depending on what Rubios situation is like.

wolves interested in Amare????

Who is this source lol

Doesn't make much sense, because most likely he wouldn't resign here, seems like an odd rumor.

Why does his name keep coming up around here? The man wouldn't re-sign anyway.

Maybe they will have him sign an extension then trade him here, prolly one of those "will never happen" type deals.

Flynn/Amare/Love + Henry in the draft would be a pretty good group in theory, imo. Get a SF for Jefferson unless he was included in that deal.

Jefferson/Blount/Cardinal for Amare and JRich type of scenario could work salary wise. Phoenix would need Rubio in that deal though.

What a coincidence, I'm interested in a one night stand with Hillary Clinton. Calinks can apply the suntan lotion on my neck and on Hillary's armpits. Pantsuit, suntan lotion, Barry White cd, and a can of mandarin oranges to make it a night to remember.

If it fits, it ships.

Just a thought, but if he didn't, that would mean even more capspace this offseason. Robin Lopez would be a MUST to come back. Clark too?

Why on earth would the Suns include 2 lottery picks (Lopez and Clark) along with Amare?!?!

I can't imagine this is true. We have PGs and PF's and need everything else.

Does this writer have any credibility?

In order to save your poor owner some money. Al makes about 5-6M less than Amare, and puts up comparable stats. Which means we need some added incentive...

Yes he is the closest writer to the Suns.

Amare and Love would actually be a great combo in my opinion, regardless of the fact that neither is a true center.

Who is telling you that the Suns would even want Jefferson? He is a terrible fit for as long as Nash runs the team.

Lopez and Clark are extremely unlikely to be traded. They are the only future we have right now.

I think it is more likely that the Suns would want your 2 mid first round picks and Rubio maybe Brewer rather than Jefferson unless they deal Richardson as well.

Also what good is it that Jefferson makes 5M$ less when he is signed for 4 more years and hasn't shown that he has overcome his injury completely?

Well Clark was #14, so he's barely lottery, and Lopez was #15, so he's not. Maybe "mid-first" or "past pick in the teens" would have been a better choice? And its nice they were picked so high, but one's averaging 6 PPG and the other 2.9 PPG, so its not like you're including Derrick Rose here.

Anyway, Jefferson's trade value > Amar'e because

1. There is huge risk that if a team trades ANYTHING fro Amar'e, he could just walk.

2. Al Jefferson is locked into a deal that will be less expensive.

Pay attention:

Nov FG 46.8%, 7.8 RB, 16.6 PPG
Dec FG 49.6%, 10.2 RB, 18.7 PPG
Jan FG 51.4%, 11.5 RB, 20.5 PPG

I do question his fit though on a running team with Nash. He's two years younger than Amar'e

Jeff is just as good of a scorer
Jeff is a better rebounder
Amare and Jeff both can't play defense.
Al Jefferson locked in a much better contract, Amare will get near max in FA in 2010.

Makes no sense. Teaming the two of them up, would be fine on offense, however they can't stop anyone.

Lopez is a legit center , just 20 years old or so and averaging 15/7 since starting.

Clark doesn't get PT this season because he is an inconsisten shooter but that doesn't mean they don't value him. Look at Dragic and Lopez, Clark will show his value next season.
He is a legit 6'10 1/2 Lamar Odom type of player with better athleticism. He is putting in extra practice hours after every practice.
