Man I just had put True Hoops' blog in my favorites about a month ago, but this like blurb seals it. He is a unbiased, genuinely interested, no bull crap funny stuff (Simmons) basketball mind.

Cool to see. I hadnt realized he improved his shot that much....and I like the Ariza comparison. I think I actually even said that before the season.

I don't know what's gotten in to him, but I hope he keeps it up. If someone told me in October that Brewer would be the only bright spot on this team by January, I would have laughed at them.

It was also DX's worst case scenario for him coming out of Florida (best case being Josh Smith).

Corey has been better in January. Corey still hasn't been good in January. Don't forget he cost them the NO game, then redeemed himself, then cost them the NO game again. Just for an example.

Also we know that a good January doesn't always mean they turned a corner. I.E. Randy Foye.

When Kurt Rambis joined the Timberwolves, he said that Corey Brewer had a hitch in his shot that made him shoot off-balance and inconsistently. David Kahn reiterated in the pre-season that this was a fixable problem, and Corey Brewer has always been a hard worker. Brewer has always had the tools to be a decent NBA defender, even as a rookie, but if he can couple this with an effective shot, he'll become a far more valuable player.

Corey has become our best shooter. He plays the passing lanes very well. He dunks it very well.

Corey for MVP!!!

In the last half month he's been our best player imo.

He's shown a hell of a lot of improvement so far this season, but he's still a very inconsistent player. Looking at his game logs this season, his minutes, points, rebounds, assists, change dramatically with each game. This last week is about as consistent as he's been all season, and we've been thumped all week. I know he's young, and young players are inconsistent. But Corey needs to balance out the good and the bad to improve.

It takes some effort and drive to continue to compete during all of these blowout losses. Kudos to Brewer for playing hard all the time.

Does anyone else get the feeling that players are letting trade rumors effect them? Maybe they are all pulling a Mike Miller and playing poorly in hopes that they land in greener pastures.

Brewer has easily been our most exciting player this season.

I love his hustle. Sure, he makes a lot of mistakes but he's hustling. He wants to win. If I see a Gomes or Pavlovic I don't see that they want to win.

I love that he came right back after LBJ blocked his layup attempt and tried to poke one, but I think Hickson it was got a hand on it, but the mind was in the right place

Corey's certainly been good in January, 16/4/2, 47%FG, 47%3FG, with a block and a steal thrown in for good measure. He's been a beast in transition and shown the ability to knock down open shots in the halfcourt. He isn't a guy that you go to in order to create his own shot off the bounce or run the pick-n'-roll. Rambis/coaching staff asked him to do that at the end of the NO game, and it was a bit of a fiasco. Corey screwed up, but he shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place.

troof, Corey needs lanes to work with. Some iso play at the end of a game isn't gonna go anywhere. But in general I think the triangle is good for him because it's potentially conducive to ball movement that will have defenders scrambling if the players can get their reads down

I think we're officially into "get excited about Corey hitting shots" territory. If he always shot like he's shooting this month, he'd have a 13 year NBA career.

We should start ripping on Mchale for his opinion, "Brewer has legitimate potential" ...

Now he just needs to work on tightening his handle

He's a work in progress just like every other player on our team should be but Sasha for example is a work in regress
If he improves his handling and shooting further he'll be very valueable to our team. :)
