Most likely to be traded (in the future)

Do you think these two guys are actually the same person? WoahMoving on, I'm going to have to say Al Jefferson is near top of the list (I wouldn't be surprised if it happened next season).
-The Timberwolves have made a bid for Thomas (as did Houston and Denver)
-We could hold the rights to Jefferson, Pekovic, Gomes, Love, Hollins, and Thomas
-Thomas is a power forward
-Pekovic can be signed this summer
-Rambis has eliminated the Jefferson/Love starting lineup
-Still need an upgrade at SG and SF.
I'm going to say Sessions is gone when Rubio hops on over (or Wall obviously) and Gomes will be kept unless we draft Johnson or Aminu. Brewer, Love, Pekovic, and Rubio are keepers.

If Jefferson is traded it's going to bother the **** out of me that we practically gave away Garnett.

Yes, I think Jefferson is eventually traded. Lot's of reasons to support this decision.
1. Fit. It's clear he's not a good fit for our flow offense. His game require him to stop ball movement which limits the effectiveness of the offense. He's also not a good pick and roll player, which is one of the main options of our offense and necessary component needed to match up with our future point guards.
2. Pekovic. Pekovic should be able to replace Jefferson and be a better fit in our offense. Pekovic is already a better defender, can run, and makes quicker decisions with the ball. Pekovic will also be much cheaper allowing us to shift money to positions of greater need. The other skill positions should be able to replace Jefferson's scoring with a more efficiently run flow offense.
3. Love. Love is capable of replacing Al as the team's front court scorer. Love is more versatile, fits better in our offense, is cheaper, and younger.
3. Even if we lose we win. More than likely we will take a significant hit in terms of player value in an Al Jefferson trade. An example is the offered Deng + Thomas trade. Although this is not even close to what Al should be worth, because of #'s 1, 2, and 3 above, and along the Wolves weakness at other positions, a trade such as this would, in my opinion, improve the Wolves performance on the court and lead to more victories.

Not me. Boston got a championship, but only 1 and 1/2 seasons of a player worth his salary. Now, it pains me to say this, but Garnett is a bad contract and is probably close to untradeable. Had the Wolves not traded him we would have had two more mediocre seasons, worse draft picks (no Love, no Flynn), and now we would be stuck with a player on his last legs with an unmovable contract. All this is without even mentioning whatever the Wolves can get in trades for Jefferson and Gomes and the draft pick that became Ellington.
I'd say this trade was a classic win-win.

Agreed, but i do still LOVE when people consider it such a steal for Boston.

I think Flynn is traded. Rubio is going to be great and it's very likely that we will have a legitimate SG and SF so Kahn's little have Rubio guard SGs will no longer be needed.

that Simmons article got me realizing the same thing. plus that fabled KG-Roy-Granger dream lineup wouldn't look so good right now.

win-win?
I see how the Celtics won, what with the Championship - but how did the timberwolves come out of that trade winners? The last few years have been the worst ever in franchise history, it's been brutal watching these teams. At least when they were this bad in the beginning years it was all still exciting and new. I suppose eventually the money owed to KG will make the trade worth it, but I don't think we've reached that point yet.

It's not about the last two years, it's about the next two years and what our roster looks like now. If we still had KG we would be in an even worse position then we are in now and the next two years would look really bleak.

Here's a Big Al trade I like ---
Prince + Detroit 1st for Big Al.
Detroit wouldn't consider it until after the lottery. However, assuming Detroit lands somewhere in the 5-8 range this would be a good trade idea for us.

I think we should find a way to trade Gomes. Turner, Aminu, Johnson. I mean we can just pick up a swingman.

I'm with Krapinsky. I believe Al's days here are numbered.

Watching this team makes me think more and more we need to move Al. Love is a better fit here, and he does more of the little things to help a team win. Sure Al is the better player but, he has a bigger contract, is older, has had some injuries and could net us a better player(hopefully a stud wing/Defensive center). Love and Al's minutes together have taken a huge hit lately because we are either tanking or they won't work together.
I don't wanna lose any of our pgs, I think Sessions is a much better player than we are seeing...when he gets minutes he puts up good numbers, and Flynn is just a really likeable player. I love Rubio just as much as everyone and think he's going to be a stud.

I feel like when the time comes there will not be very many Big Al trade suitors.
Any other Big Al trade ideas?
Martin/Thompson or 1st (Sac fans say no);
Prince/1st (my favorite)
Three way S&T with Gay involved and Al going to a 3rd team? (very difficult)

that's what I'm hoping for. maybe Chicago would like to grab Al and send out Deng/pick?

I don't think trading Al will make us a contender, which is why I'm not sold on it.
I think Gomes is most likely gone, then one of the PGs if needed to get us a better player. Flynn or Sessions could go if it nets us someone much better.

Like I posted a few posts back, I would think something like this could be a good deal:
Bulls trade:Deng/other things(maybe picks, or other players)
Bulls Receive:Al
Grizz trade:Gay
Receive:Deng/assests
Wolves trade:Al
Receive:Gay, possibly assests as well.
THis could make Memphis get a better defensive sf, who wouldn't need as many shots. Opening up the shots for Mayo/Randolph/Gasol. Wolves get their athletic sf, and Bulls get the low post player they wanted forever.

I'm starting to conclude that as long as we have Big Al we will never be a contender.
Just really down on Al lately.
Sorry guys.

McGee, if he shows signs of briliance for the reminder of the season I would be calling Zards about Al/Javale swap in the offseason(Zards will be under the cap enough to make this trade). I'm really high on McGee and think he's got a chance to be a cross between Dwight and Camby, he's going to be a shotblocking monster and one of the longest and most athletic centers in the league, and will be the perfect match to Love.
