That was the deal with Jawai is that we'd open a roster spot and it would be a wash on the luxury tax because they paid his salary for us, but saved that amount from having to go towards the lux. So really they saved the amount it would have cost to keep him. And of course got that open roster spot.
And damn you for it being a youtube link, I'll have to wait until I get home.

I think the last time he was allowed to speak was "The Night The Lights Went Out In Sota" aka the day we drafted/traded OJ The Great for the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. So nearly 2 years.

Ricky's had a very good year. He doesn't put up huge numbers, but he has a very big impact on his team and Barcelona where he's playing is one of the top teams in the Euroleague. He a guy who has a load of potential. He did more at his age at the Spanish League which is the second best league in the world behind the NBA than any player ever has, so we're excited to have Ricky.

Then, and translated to christian language, this dude says that he hasn't any fucqed idea about Rubio and Minnesota hasn't any kind of contact with Rubio.

I wonder how Barcelona feels about this. I wouldn't be too happy to find out a team in a different league is talking to someone like Love or Jefferson on a regular basis.

If they owned the rights, or should we say, if they drafted Love or Jefferson because they voluntarily entered their draft, I guess we'd have to feel it's acceptable.

I'm sure there's an etiquette to it, but it's standard stuff for NBA teams to be talking to European players.

You're probably right. The NBA probably even has a policy in place for this sort of thing - including when it is and isn't appropriate to be talking, and whose permission you need to receive prior to doing it. It just seems a little weird during the season.

Rubio's case is maybe a little too straight-forward as Barcelona knew he was NBA property of the Wolves when they signed him. As far as I know, Pek never voluntarily entered the draft. We drafted him because he reached age 23 where he automatically became NBA draft eligible, and he's playing for the same team now that he was then. Yet we've talked to him several times this year as well. Its a little greyer whether his team should find this acceptable - especially during the season.

But at the same time Pekovic has made it clear that he's coming to the NBA this year to the point that his team is bringing in big man replacements. Pretty sure it isn't a big deal, or it wouldn't be happening.

I'm sure it annoys Rubio/Shrek's respective teams, even if solely from the standpoint that it's an added distraction while they're trying to win games. It probably annoys guys like Jonny and Al to some extent if/when they hear stuff like that, too. It's only natural.

quote from Ricky:
I love Minnesota. Greatest fans in the world. Can't wait to go to America. I will miss most of the Spanish fans. There is this one guy though, I think his name is "Lobo" and he keeps stalking me trying to get more autographs. I've hired additional body guards.

Two points ....
a) Only one team has Rubio's rights today and it is the Barça. If someday Ricky wants play in the NBA, first he must resolve his contract with present team. In other words, Minnesota only has something written in a paper napkin, maybe millions, maybe only smoke.
b) About the declarations of this dude, Alfred, we can find hundreds of webs and newspapers telling the same. He didn't say nothing new and I think because Minnesota has the neediness of tell his fans that they are doing something with Rubio affaire. I don't believe that Minnesota is in contact with Rubio environment or with himself in person, basically because this don't suit the Rubio strategy. Minnesota did a bold play picking him and now every Jesuschrist must carry his cross.
ACB's final playoffs will end in the middle June with the Euroleague ended, perhaps one week before, and the 2010 Draft is in late June (24?) ... A couple weeks before the Draft will be the moment for Kahn-Rubio interview face to face. This is a lucubration, of course. Until this happen, we must say only about if Peko is slow, if Rubio can defend the wings, if he is enhances his mid-range shot, bla bla bla ...
It's only my point of view. Mr. Hoiberg didn't said absolutely nothing relevant, but pretty adorned. Surely he is a very good public relations manager.

You're wrong, man, I admire a lot of people, not only a boy playing with a ball, and I don't wait nor 30 seconds for the autograph of nobody. I relativize all, and if rev was here, he would say that I must read the Benedict XVI encyclical "Veritas Veritates" ...
"Lambs, you musn't relativize"
Well, I always relativize. Can you understand, lamb?
