Quite OT, but should be fun for you guys.

Hey dudes. I come in peace. I just thought I'd share something quite humorous with you guys.

While I was making my usual news cycle rounds, I stumbled upon a Nets fan forum. During one of their threads about the impending FA bonanza this summer, a couple of the posters started talking about getting both Ricky Rubio and Evan Turner from the Wolves, should they have the #1 overall pick, and you guys got the second overall pick.

Basically, the deal that somehow makes sense to them is: Rubio/#2 (Turner) for the #1 straight up...

Gross ignorance and homerism like this should be shared. Hope you guys enjoy. :D

Oh, and for whatever it's worth, I do my fair share of lurking around the team forums here, and this board is easily the chillest, funniest, most inviting of them all. Keep that sh*t up. Too many folks round here take themsevles too seriously.

I heard Bill Simmons is lobbying for the open Mod spot.

Bill Simmons won't get a mod job here, unqualified.

Thank you for posting. We should additionally get Love involved. It wouldn't be fair with just Rubio and Turner :P

Love would be over the top. Perhaps send them Jefferson and they can S&T Bobby Simmons to a 5yr/$50 contract to balance out the salaries? We need a SF bad

This is the important part of the OP, and I take full credit. The rest of you so called "Wolves fans" would be just lonely a-holes without me.

Here's my question:

Would we do #3 + Rubio for #1?

Keep in mind that John Wall is going to bring tremendous marketing and media attention that the front office desperately needs to bring back fans.

Thanks OP.

So if we get the #1 I guess we could do a #1 for #2 + Lopez, then. Sweet.

Awww... One of their stupid Mods cleaned up the thread... Damn, I wish I would've copied some of the posts in there. Most of them were pure gold...

I was also feeling quite bad for the one guy on that board who thought Minny being willing part with Turner/Rubio for just the #1 was nuts. Must be difficult to be the only reasonable person surrounded by this guy:

He actually started modding on the Clips board but had to resign shortly thereafter because of the onset of carpal tunnel syndrome. Here was the retirement announcement:

IhateKahn5 is retiring as a Clippers Moderator so he can have more time to pursue other exciting opportunities in his life.

IhateKahn5 is still going to be around and the door will always be open for him to return.

This forum would not be what it is today without IhateKahn5 and the great service IhateKahn5 has put in for a good chunk of the last week.

Ihatekahn5 has also done so much more than we will ever know for all of us in his everyday life. It has been nothing but an honor to have IhateKahn5 on my staff for these three days and greatly appreciate everything IhateKahn5 has done for us.

At this time, I'd like everyone to join me in thanking IhateKahn5 for everything he has done for this forum as a Moderator and a person.

Thanks so much Ihatekahn5!

Kind of agree. Turner AND Rubio combined have more value then Wall, IMO, if only because you get to fill 2 spots with awesome players instead of just one.

Is the Michael Beasley marketing juggernaut bringing the fans out in droves in Miami?

He wasn't #1. Derrick Rose probably brought plenty of fans to CHI (not that they needed it).

Even if that's true, Rose is from Chicago, that's a different situation. Interestingly enough, he's also the only #1 overall pick of the last 3 years to suit up during his first season. A #1 pick may be enough to generate short term buzz, but winning is the only real way to sustain actual interest.
